  1. And of course, rather than being transparent about it, the air force leaves us to gossip and guess. I don't think the USAF cares about "flying related stuff" as long as the slides are green.

  2. Good stuff. I will echo that the briefing we received at a quarterly session was basically what 3-Holer said, the crew was dumb. The brief was lacking sufficient detail and I didn't learn anything. I try to learn as much from these things as I can so that I can improve as an avaitor. Sitting around swapping stories and gaining a better understanding of our limits and our aircraft is priceless. Thanks for sharing. Dear BaseOps Moderators: I pledge that we create a new discussion group called Safety. This topic is a great start. Out

  3. I know of one. He was a Army Guard helo pilot that also flew for a regional. I knew him from my Army Guard days because he was a RLO in my aviation battalion. I saw him as I was graduating from Laughlin...apparently an AFRC unit picked him up and sent him to FWQ. I heard later that he washed out of the program....but from what I knew of him from my Army days he was sort of an idiot, which is probably why the ARNG let him go (we were always fat on WOs and short on RLOs). Bottom line: having some experience won't help much if you're a retard.

  4. You can't do facing movements in heels. One female in my flight wore heels. She got destroyed by both MTIs, every Flt/CC, and the Sq/CC. They yelled at her all day. Don't wear heels. Put them in your car.

  5. Aw nuts, I guess the time was cumming. Hopefully those restrictions will eventually peter-out, give it a few months then push to testy. Make sure they "get it in" an AFI, how else can I follow a legal order? Can you use the term in connection with other statements? "He really has no...", "I wish someone would kick him in the...", "His girlfriend has a nice set of hairy....", can you still request to hear a certain song by AC/DC. In fact that song should be played as much as possible.

  6. 1. You will need your ribbon rack with all federal ribbons, state is only optional and 98% of the students will not bring or wear them. 2. Being a male I can only speak to what I have seen. Most females only wore the low quarters. The thing about AMS is EVERYONE has to be uniform, meaning if one female wants to wear heels, all the females must wear heels. All the females in my class just stuck with the low quarters. 3. 1 pair of boots will be fine. Some people brought 2 pairs but that just means one pair is always subject to inspection while in your dorm. I only brought 1 pair while my roommate brought 2 and ended up putting his extra pair in my car and never needed them. You will be fine with only 1 pair. 4. You can have other colors in the shoe just make sure they are not "flashy", you do not want to stand out or have them catch unneeded attention. 5. Depends what you want altered. You will need your blues to be ready by end of week 2 or beginning of week 3 for open ranks. You will not have time to go to alterations during the first 2 weeks. I recommend getting everything altered before hand, if you cannot, drop some stuff off the Saturday before your class starts and if you need them before your allowed to go get them on your own, just let your flight commander know, they were pretty reasonable when it came to that stuff. 6. 95% of my wings pay was on time, if it wasn't, it was due to orders being wrong or the individuals unit messing something up. They are very serious about your pay here and will help you do what it takes to make sure you receive it. 7. You do not wear blues a whole lot here. You will wear them twice for open ranks, then for the graduation events and that is it. I brought 1 short sleeve and 1 long sleeve and never wore the long sleeve at all since it was summer. Again, anything extra you have are potential demerits during inspections. 8. Definitely pants, since you are going in November you probably will not be wearing a skirt. Anything extra or questionable you want to bring, keep it in your car, a flight mates car, or dry cleaners until you need it. No one checks to make sure you have the "required" items on the list, just don't be the individual that doesn't bring the APECS jacket and makes the whole wing march without theirs in the rain to stay uniformed. Hope this info helps. PM me if you have any other questions.

  7. The problem isn't the fact that we'll be replaced. It's that the program is being cancelled before there is a viable replacement ready to fly. I'd be first in line to fly a new CAS platform. There isn't one. You, your ego, and you're perfectly tuned gun should be upset that your Army bros won't have a dedicated CAS platform to call. I can't figure out why you're running round and round with this other than a simple inferiority complex. I'm sure you've seen CAS jets miss. I've seen CAS your platform completely embarrass themselves while spraying bullets around like some kind of happy ending. Does that mean you're all terrible at everything all the time? Does it mean you always miss? From what I've seen, yes, but is that true in your eyes? I doubt it. Ease the fuck up and go ask a handful of your Army infantry bros what they think of the hawg going away. Nobody gives a fuck what you or any other pilots (fixed or sling wing) thinks. It's about the dudes on the ground we want to go home safely. Take your penis envy elsewhere. Thank you. Beat me to it.

  9. The irony of Lawman's survivability discussion is that Army Aviation tried to prove they could play A-10. Najaf - Mar 24, 2003. 32 AH-64s vs everybody on a deep strike mission. Results? 1 Apache crew captured, a shitload shot up, and the rest were forced to RTB. Mission failure. No SA-22s or SA-24s here. Or 2S6. Etc. Everyone's got their role. The AC-130 is not an A-10 is not an AH-64. Let's be grown ups here - admit that we all bring something different to the table that helps the good guys get out of trouble and the bad guys rest in pieces.

  10. I think the full retard train left the station a while back and a lot of idiot Americans are onboard happily and furiously shoveling coal to make it go faster.
