  1. 2. It is beyond me how he continues to ruin the legacy that he could have had. He just won't shut up. It's too bad that Hoover or Bud Anderson wasn't the first to go supersonic. These two epitomize what a gentleman with a great aviation legacy should be.

  2. A guy in our squadron is ordering morale patches that say "No Morale" on them since no morale patches are authorized.

  3. That's interesting, because there are a lot of aviators who have no respect for a guy who is a self-important windbag who once accomplished some amazing acts of airmanship but unfortunately eclipsed all of that with his enormous ego.

  5. Nobody was forced to go to UPT and enter into such indentured serditude. In fact, 99.69% of guys beating down the door to get to UPT would sign their wife and child away just to get the opportunity to do what you and I do. It's part of the game. If you haven't realized that up to this point, then the joke's on you. Everyone should know this and make choices accordingly from the first time they enlist in and including every decision made thereafter. Caveat emptor. Really? When operating in congested 'wild west' airspace, you're watching your TCAS closely? How about ya try this one one for size: check 12 o'clock and clear your flightpath. Remember that one from day 1 of UPT?

  6. So, it took place in three parts, but was 'uninterrupted'? Is this TPS logic? Just because someone has the opportunity and venue to speak their mind doesn't mean they should do it.

  7. Quote “Allowing flying units to keep their patches while eliminating them from all other units only further perpetuates the stigma that in our Air Force, there are fliers, and then there’s everybody else,” wrote 1st Lt. Benjamin Moritz, a maintenance officer with the 55th Wing at Offutt Air Force Base, Neb. “Why should fliers be the only ones allowed to show pride in their units and their jobs?” Quoted for posterity. I know Ben, this will make excellent FTU/Naming fodder. Perfect example of "RAINMAN's Guide to Life Rule #1: Never talk to the media."

  9. Bitter much hacker? I think spaw gets it as evidenced by his post that spells out that we all signed the contract and the AF owes us essentially nothing; you're preaching to the choir it seems. WRT his "watching TCAS over BAF" it was a saying man, not a comment on proper airmanship. Recommend more
