Hello everyone! After months of delay due to COVID, I was able to take the TBAS and complete my application packet. I am absolutely thrilled to be sending out my first application packet tomorrow but I would love some feedback on my scores, chances, and anything I can improve on that would help me land an interview. I recently turned 23 and graduated with a 3.36 gpa in B.S. in Political Science from TCU! (Go Frogs). In school I founded and presided over TCU's first ever aviation club called the "Flying Frogs." Well I'm nearing graduation again and have been curious about flying for the USAF. This time i'm graduating PA school this August with a Master's in Science. Wanna do this new gig part-time but now that im 35 and a half, I'd like to toss my hat in the ring maybe one last time for a buzzer beater. The spark is still there, I feel and look young for my age. Old guy here at 35. Here's my story: 10 years ago I got my PPL (about 47 hours) and applied to a guard unit, was told no, but that I was heavily considered (fighters). Reapplied the next year and they said no again. Looked through other avenues for a couple years but recruiters (Navy and USMC) said I wasn't a strong enough applicant for Aviation. I am 35 and pursuing an airguard or reserve pilot slot, no previous military. I understand to not self eliminate and let them tell me no. But a majority of the job postings state in the requirements that I must be no older than 30 to 34 to apply (depending on the attachment), while some others state no older than 34 by start of upt. Furthermore, the units I call ask me the age question right away, then say no thanks. So do I only apply to the VERY few that don’t state age requirements, or still send my application package to every unit and hope I don’t piss off a wing because I can’t follow directions. Hello all, longtime lurker here. I am currently an active duty O-4 looking at applying to UPT for FY21. I'm medical, so I came into the AF as an O-3 and have 5.5 years of active service. I commissioned as part of a scholarship program in 2011, so I know I will need an ETP for TFCSD. I'm rather unhappy in my career but love the military and want to be more operational.
