March 22Mar 22 No major upsets through round 1. Big 10 is holding up nicely. My teams will be lucky to make the 16, so no idea who can win it all. I do however, need The Ducks to take out Duke, just because.

I do however, need The Ducks to take out Duke, just because.SEC went 8-6 in round one, which is about right for admitting the 90% of the conference. Turns out half the conference is above average.

While I am not a Hurley fan, he was right about the no call late in the game, it changed the flow and momentum, UConn was up, 61-59, with just over three minutes to play. Had some friends over and we watched the game not routing for either team and all had the same perception that the refs were favoring UF. After the game we checked the stats and Florida was called for fewer fouls than UConn (17 to 24). UConn screwed themselves at the line making just 22 of 34 shots. It will be interesting to see how UF does against Maryland...the Terps won on a buzzer beater that was crazy to watch. My darkhorse for the tournament is Ole Miss...something about the way they have played at the end of the season. Fun time of year.
March 24Mar 24 WI loss was a big bummer. Never got a reason for the WI asst technical. Refs were quite silly for the technicals they called, like pointing to the ceiling. I wanted the O Ducks to win, but if you can't shoot a free throw, you don't deserve to make it to the top 16 teams in the nation. AR - St Johns was fun to watch with the coach rivalry and glad to see The Hogs advance.

April 9Apr 9 Author I won my bracket friends group with the Gators taking it all. Most everyone in my group had Duke going all the way. I knew Houston was rough and physical but even with their seeding, I didn’t think they’d make it past Elite 8. They were physical and aggressive and had me scared in the final.
