September 18, 20187 yr Glad they are ok. The frequency of incidents is getting old quick. I am glad I am no longer in the T6. Judging from the crash site location, they were likely on final. Edited September 18, 20187 yr by black hills tj

September 19, 20187 yr Probably fucked up an ELP...flying canceled, UPT will be all sims until further notice. Also, might as well skip IFF while we’re at it. Edited September 19, 20187 yr by brabus

Quick to jump to conclusion. Guy is a good dude and a great pilot. I'm not saying you are wrong, but based on the location of the incident, I'd disagree with the ELP assumption. EDIT: Hoping its sarcasm carried over from the ELP thread. Edited September 19, 20187 yr by black hills tj
September 19, 20187 yr Wonder if this will speed up the seat cartridge fixes, glad they're okay Edited September 19, 20187 yr by YoungnDumb
September 19, 20187 yr Man I wonder if MB is gonna run out of ties. Glad they're okay. Gotta love the locals running out to help, God bless Texas.

Thankfully at RND ours are... and apparently just in time. Sounds like a perfect example of why flying with your mask down due to OBOGs should not be an acceptable "fix", had their masks been down they both would have some serious scar face going on likely now.
September 19, 20187 yr I was literally doing my egress rehack at RND today, thinking fuck why do I have to take the day off to rehash this shit. Then this happens on my way out the gate. Martin Baker FTW.

September 19, 20187 yr Glad everyone made it out of this one ok. Those seats are once again proving to be worth every penny. Also found this on twitter.

THIS! When I left SPS a couple months ago a majority of the fleet were still solo ops for the ISS.Sent from my iPhone using Baseops Network mobile app

When I left KEND only 6-9 of the jets were fixed, so things may have changed but given that it took 3.5 years to get that many fixed I'm not confident.
September 19, 20187 yr On the topic of the T-38 cat cartridges modified for the T-6. https://www.military.com/2018/09/18/airmen-dont-trust-us-field-equipment-they-need-general-says.html
September 20, 20187 yr Did the AF stand down the T-6 at all? Or did they bury their nugget in the sand and pretend all is well? Edited September 20, 20187 yr by IDALPHA Words
September 20, 20187 yr T38s resumed around noon, I am sure T-1s followed suit several hours later after they enjoyed sleeping in and grabbing some lunch 😉 I didn't see any T6s in the sky today. https://www.12ftw.af.mil/News/Article-Display/Article/1639721/update-2-t-6a-texan-ii-crash/
September 20, 20187 yr RND T-6s stood down all day. All UPT IPs meet with their leadership from what I was told. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
September 20, 20187 yr Judging by the pics, it looks like it went down in the field across from Holy Cross Cemetery. Does that check with anyone there? It's been almost a decade since I was in PIT, but doesn't that coincide with the st-in ground track? 90 to initial is more over The Forum.
