Recently I've come across a number of documents/presentations that are directly from Boyd. If there's any interest, let me know; I'll upload the rest of what I've found. Here's a pretty interesting interview with the Col from the early 70s. BOYD 23 May 1973 Interview.pdf
  2. I haven't used it yet, but the new Auto Circle program from USAA sounds like it could get you some good deals. Auto Circle
  3. I know of an O-5 who's a valuable asset to the AF, especially to the flying community, but now he's looking at other career options because of the new PT rules. Why? Because he's built like a damn tank. He's not out of shape by any means, but the "39" rule screwed him. I've got a waistline that would make any 13 year old girl jealous, and it's nice to get the free points on the test; but it's bullshit that we're going to lose people that we need, people the AF has invested millions of dollars in, due to the fact some genius picked an arbitrary number as the standard of "fitness." I wonder when they're going to add a 5th portion to the test for everyone who has a receding hairline. "Male pattern baldness? Not in my Air Force. Automatic PT fail."

Thank you for reminding me of why I never want to visit NYC again...The girl doesn't stop grabbing her crotch to readjust the camel toe she's getting from spreading her legs wide open in public, and the moral police are upset at the dude with the video camera? No double standard there. Reminds me of Wedding Crashers when Jane Seymour makes Owen Wilson grab her chest; then calls him a pervert.
  5. "Larry, don't you even think abouts givin up our seats. If I don't get back to watch all those re-runs of Becker I recorded with the DVR in our double-wide, you ain't gunna hear the end of it! Plus I got 15 pounds of left over potato salad that needs eatin; it might go bad if we ain't home 12 hours early!" If the article said that the agent at the counter had to ask twice, that would've been enough to piss me off. The fact that she had to plead for over 30 minutes is beyond shameful. I hope all those chode mongers who never thought of volunteering are pleased with themselves. Nothing like scrubbing your conscience with a tub of Ben & Jerry's laced with some reality TV. Here's to the soldier's family.

Probably most people here know a majority of this info, but it's still a good read. It was written by Chuck Spinney, so it's all first hand information. I didn't see it attached anywhere else; if it, please disregard. Favorite line about the Col: "To make matters worse, he had an IQ of only 90, which he claimed was an advantage because it forced him to be more efficient." Genghis John.pdf

For those of you who aren't embarrassed about that Snuggie you own, time to step things up on the shameless scale: Snazzy Napper

Guido Beach. Best part is at the end.
  9. Thanks for the info. Much appreciated.

Guy runs from baseball, girlfriend bears the brunt of his cowardice. After this sissy pranced away from a foul ball at an Astros game, his sexual preference was immediately called into question by 20,000 fans at the stadium. The video on the link pretty much confirms the dude brought the girl to the game as a front.
  11. If you wanted to get into MX for a Guard or Reserve unit, would you shoot to the front of the line if you're an A&P? If so, what's the age cut off for a non-prior?
  12. And the Swiss amended their constitution to ban the construction of new minarets. Plus there's the whole Geert Wilders controversy in the Netherlands. Pretty interesting to see this trend spreading across Europe.
  13. You may have made that thing so epic that you've done yourself a disservice. Meaning there's a good chance you'll be tempted to wear it to a bar with your civilian clothes.
  14. We're going to spend our way to free health care. Just like we're taking care of illegal immigration by leaving the borders wide open. Reverse psychology. How is this not an item of concern for him when he works for an administration that is about to fight tooth and nail to pass a $26 billion teacher jobs bill? "Yeah, we've got to cut $240 million in defense spending, but we need to add $26 billion to the budget...But don't you worry, my precious snowflakes, it's already paid for. We promise." Maybe everyone getting ousted in Norfolk can become a teacher...It'll be easy: just pass a $150 billion government employee cross training bill. Budget rescued, problem solved.

That's what I got from it. Didn't seem to me like it was intended to leave the audience hanging, but I guess art is supposed to be subjective. Everyone gets something different out of it yadda yadda yadda. {POTENTIAL SPOILER} On another note, did either of you figure out how they procured weapons once they were in the dream? In the scene in the warehouse, the British guy said something to the kid along the lines of, "You need to think bigger." The proceeded to pull a grenade launcher out of nowhere. I wasn't able to put 2 and 2 together there.

M2, did you have to buy a second home just to have a place to stash your collection?

The 27 is one of the best revolvers I've shot. It's got an incredibly smooth trigger pull, and it feels really well balanced. You'll enjoy it.
  18. An officer getting reprimanded by a subordinate for not wearing socks is pretty much a "WTF" situation.

Did you find out what caused the engine failure? More importantly, did you get a free round of golf out of the ordeal? That's probably the best [read: least expensive] marketing the course has ever gotten. Any more details?
  21. Briefly looking at the picture of the charred remains of the vertical stabilizer almost made my stomach turn. Those photos cut deep. Here's to the crew and their families.
  22. One the best photographs of all time...It blows my mind to think that a man's intellectual prowess can turn the whole world upside down.

Has anyone heard of or seen Restrepo? I just stumbled across the review on rottentomatoes. Looks somewhat promising for a documentary.
  24. Thoughts, prayers, and ineffable admiration.

I thought you were joking until I saw the picture for myself. At least the P-51 is still in tact.
