2027 ACTIVE DUTY UFT BOARD
Just chiming in as another FY26 select in case it helps anyone out. Here’s my stats. First time applying. AFOQT Pilot: 99 PCSM: 68 PPL: No Flight Hours (at the time of applying I was deployed and couldn’t fly, but have since gotten a few more): 1.2 hours Sqd Ranking: 1 of 1 Wg Ranking: 2 of 2 2x Flt Commander; 1x deployment; worked at the Sqd, Gp, and Wg levels. Always had at least one Sqd quarterly award on each OPR/OPB, and usually tried to have an annual Sqd or quarterly Gp award. My personal statement focused on leadership, adaptability, and experience in the Ops realm even though I was a norated officer at the time. LOR was from my deployed Wing Deputy CC. We worked closely together during the 12 Day War last year in CENTCOM, so he was able to see how I work under extreme stress, ability to learn quickly and adapt (I was filling a Wing level rated position as a healthcare admin officer), and my leadership ability. Ultimately, I think it was my leadership experience that propped up my lower PCSM and lack of flight hours. I’m in the middle of PCSing to Vance now. If you have questions about the application process or IPT, I’m happy to help. Best of luck to everyone applying this year!

Yeah, I definitely included that in the package. This was a formal CMS case requesting I sign the AF Form 63. I fully understand and agree to the 10 year ADSC, just didn’t expect to actually sign it until near the end of training. It sounds like everyone should be getting it to sign prior to PCSing to UPT, and if you don’t finish training for whatever reason, then it will revert to a 2 year ADSC.

If that’s the case, it would be really awesome if they sent an update email to everyone. I was told a couple of weeks ago that they should start loading assignments again soon. They had started, but got bogged down with AETC taskers and were expected to be getting back on track last week.

2026 ACTIVE DUTY UFT BOARD
I was told April/May was a safe bet for earliest PCSs and that the initial training schedule for 2026, which I’m assuming is the IPT schedule , is not expected to come out until February. Based on the reply that justwanttofly received, maybe they got the schedule nailed down quicker than expected. Perhaps they’re trying to get assignments rolling prior to a potential gov shutdown on the 31st.

2026 ACTIVE DUTY UFT BOARD
I reached out to the board because I’m in a unit that deploys frequently and exercises even more frequently. Some of our Squadron’s leadership team is deploying in a few months and I’d be next in line to cover for them while they’re gone, but if I’m leaving at the same time as them then they need to start prepping someone else for that role. Sometimes it isn’t about impatience, but at this point my unit is being asked by MAJCOM for info and answers about what personnel we have available for XYZ. I’m not saying they need to tell us our specific assignments, but they did originally say we could get assignments as early as Jan 2026, then didn’t send out RIPs for MFSs until Jan 2026, which means none of us are likely to move in Jan. They said RIPs would come out 30-60 days after selection notification. That hasn’t happened either. They said to reach out if you hadn’t received an assignment by 1 Mar, but didn’t specify when they expected people to actually begin PCSing. Will people get an assignment notification on 28 Feb and be expected to PCS mid-March to start training in April? These are valid questions and I’m happy for the people who have the flexibility to not worry too much about timelines, but that info is extremely valuable for some people and not only for them personally, but also for their existing unit that is critically manned and being tasked left and right.

I feel your pain. This wait is almost worse than waiting for results. I just got back from a deployment and my unit filled my position while I was gone, because I was supposed to move to the Wing when I got back. Since I’m PCSing in the not so distant future I’m not going to the Wing anymore, but my Sqd also doesn’t know what to do with me since they have no clue how long I’ll be around. I feel like I went from 120 MPH on my deployment to a screeching halt at home and it’s been rough. I’m just trying to stay positive, find things to help out with at work, and bide my time until I get more guidance on timelines.

That’s what we planned to do too, but the BAH difference between our current assignment and the UPT bases is $1,300-$1,700/month. From my understanding, they just changed things to where you only find out your MWS at drop night now and don’t find out your location until you finish up at the FTU. If that’s the case, they can’t PCS you and then send you to the FTU because you don’t know your final duty station yet. I hope they’re able to accommodate you for IPT locations that make sense!

Just curious… for those with families, what is your plan for the PCS to UPT? If the current syllabus holds through CY26, we’ll PCS to our UPT base, go TDY to IPT for 4-5 months, then back to UPT for 3-4 months in T-6s, then TDY to the FTU for our MWS for 3-6 months. Squeeze a SERE TDY in there for a month too. I don’t want to leave my family behind at our current duty station, but it’s hard to think about moving them across the country to a place where they have no support system in some middle-of-nowhere town when I’ll be gone for 6-12 months of the approximately 18 months we’ll live there. It probably makes more sense if you want to fly something fast and pointy so you’ll spend more time at UPT for T-38s, but I personally don’t have that desire.

I looked on the ETCA (ECTA?) website yesterday and found the IPT reporting instructions. The locations I saw RIs for were Prescott, AZ (one school) and Phoenix, AZ (three schools); Sanford and Pensacola, FL; Pueblo, CO (the old IFT school I think); Peachtree, GA; San Marcos, TX; and Denton, TX. Hope this helps! Not sure how they decide who goes where for IPT. Also, it’s supposed to be 139 calendar days I believe, but it sounds like it’s closer to five months.

lol I shouldn’t laugh, but this cracked me up. My wife has already said she will not be joining me if we go to Laughlin. We’ll see how the chips fall. I’m just grateful to have been selected. The PSDM said some selectees will get assignments for Jan 2026, so at least for those people I would imagine they can’t wait too long. For those still requiring the MFS at Wright-Patt, training RIPs should flow within one month of selection and will be a TDY out and back from your current home station. Results came out sooner than expected, so I’m hoping for sooner rather than later with the assignments as well.

The waiting is the worst part!! I’m trying to just keep myself busy so I think about it less and maybe the time will pass quicker. For IPT locations, if you go to ETCA and search “IPT” under the AETC courses, you can find the reporting instructions for a bunch of locations. I can’t remember all of them off the top of my head, and they may add more with Vance bringing IPT up too, but that will at least give you a few of the options. Wishing you the best of luck this time around!

Sadly, I’ll still be deployed beyond the extended deadline so I have no way of accruing more hours before the deadline. It’s all good though. I’m not going to stress it at this point, because I literally can’t change any of it. The wing still thinks I have a competitive package, so we’ll see how it all plays out! Was your buddy by chance from Travis?
