  1. Thanks Yep, makes total sense now. Flaps up right after rotation seems like a great idea in a low energy state close to the ground. AIBs are usually less about teaching and more about blame. Maybe the safety report dug more into it.
  2. Not a 22 guy, but the Viper’s flaps are tied to the gear handle. Is the 22 like this as well or is it a separate switch? It was never mentioned in the AIB, or maybe it was and i missed it when I skimmed through it. Still trying to rationalize how that «accident» could have happened. For anyone out there in T-38 land, do not early rotate.
  3. How ‘bout find some more contractors to fix the problem, that always seems to work right? Isn’t supposed to be cheaper? Some of the throwaway online MBAs should be able to read a supply and demand curve right? As for service before self, any potential candidate has already put in the service. That’s how they got qualified in the first place. Here’s an interesting read, makes me think the problem might lie elsewhere: https://medium.com/fall-when-hit/how-come-no-generals-have-been-fired-e6a94ef1abb3
  4. I like the link, thanks. But do you, or anyone, know how to initiate the transfer? The TSP website has lots of information on how to transfer the money in, not out.
  5. 3 Viper tours, a ROK visit, and throw in a sweet gig flying the hornet with some Northern friends takes me just over 20. I picked up an ATP before the big change over during a white jet tour. Turns out I may have wasted my money. I did like flying the Barron around though. i thought about doing the Guard job/ transition a while back, but the AF kept pulling be back with some sweet assignments. I have no regrets. I am looking forward to the light at the end of the tunnel, but im sure im gonna miss the Viper.
  6. No, of course i don’t. Thanks ya’ll. Gonna go with Spitfire. I’ve have multiple recommendations going the same direction now. Hopefully see ya out there.
  7. Hey ya’ll, I’m just over a year out. Filled out the app with AA and got an immediate email asking for some sort of online assessment. I haven’t yet done any of the interview prep courses. Anyone have any insight as to what to expect once i click on the link? Thanks. i did a quick search on here but didn’t see anything specific .
  8. I aways wondered what became of ol’ Nate. At the time, I never pictured he’d go back and blame the system. When we sent him off to EC-130s, we figured a crew plane was the way to go. I think its hard to blame the system when you really struggled with the T-38 by yourself in the front seat. Honestly, I was really mad to read an article like that. I flew with a lot of students. None tried to kill me like the way this kid almost did. Sure, blame the system I guess. I’m glad he did well in an airplane that goes a fraction of the speed of that trainer. If that story about the check pilot is even remotely true, god help us. If I knew at the time I would have filled an IG complaint myself, against him. A few black students came through while I was there. Some did great. Some, not so much. The one kid we did (try) to washout was a different kid (read white kid). I think he was recycled to preds or something. Nate was just going through the prog check system like a few kids do. I guess he’ll never see it that way. Now I’m a racist as well as an ahole.
