2026 ACTIVE DUTY UFT BOARD
I started IPUG right before I went on a long tdy when I found out I made it. Got back from said tdy and was promptly removed from IPUG. I wish I could have gotten it just for the K code but I guess the DO didn't want to waste his time with me and my CC just backed up the the DO and said it was his decision. Looks good when you go up for Major but you should have enough time to get your K code when you eventually get to your new MWS if you're a Lt right now or even a young Captain.

2026 ACTIVE DUTY UFT BOARD
Congratulations to everyone who was selected. For those who didn't quote get what you were looking for, don't give up if this is something you want to do. I know guys who got it on the third, fourth, and fifth tries. If anyone has any questions about UPT, feel free to ask. I'm not as good of a source now that IPT is a thing vs traditional UPT (ish) that I went through but I know people going through and have finished IPT and UPT.

2026 ACTIVE DUTY UFT BOARD
Everyone always focuses on strats for the board. I was a 3/3 squadron and 5/6 wing strat when I applied yet here I am flying the C-17. Not a brag but a reality that strats aren't everything. I was even told after I was selected by some friends that my package wasn't as good as some others they had seen from people who weren't selected - I guess they were wrong since I was selected and they were not with a "worse" package.

Initial Pilot Training and Future Pilot Training
I believe that's how it was done at least once the changes to UPT started being made initially. When I went through recently, you needed an event graded to a fair/good/excellent depending on the phase you were in plus every X amount of rides you had to reaccomplish that event. If you were good at some things and worse at others, you could spend fewer rides doing the stuff you were good at and move the amount of rides for that block to a different part that you were weaker on so you could get more experience and practicing with whatever it was that you sucked at.

PC-21 to replace the T-6, PC-24 to replace the T-1, T-50, M-346, or any other proven advanced trainer to replace the T-38 would all be great but what AETC would say is that none of these solutions save the air force money. Something something our current UPT is producing the best and most capable pilots we've ever produced or whatever buzzwords they'd use.

Track Selects and Assignment Nights
Yeah they're making the heavy guys find out their ops unit after the FTU now. Recent change.

A330 Tanker loses the boom...
Doesn't japan also have KC-767s? Do they also use cameras or are they the old reliable boom pod?

Track Selects and Assignment Nights
Nah. I've had a buddy who dropped the 46 to Travis a year and a half ago.

https://www.aerocontact.com/public/img/aviaexpo/produits/catalogues/297/Pilatus-Aircraft-Ltd-PC-21-Brochure.pdf Looking at this PDF the PC-21 probably has all the avionics upgrades Borsight is going to be upgrading the T-6 to. I spot large MFDs, HUD, a mission computer, and probably a GPS that isn't from the early/mid 90s. Pilatus website even has some airframes with pylons for simulated weapons. Sounds like something the Air Force could use as a front line trainer and to bridge the gap for the fighter/bomber bros before T-38s/T-7s. Seems like a no brainer to me which is probably why the Air Force isn't going this direction.

This feels like another T-1 moment where by the time they update the avionics on the T-6, they're going to send them to the boneyard. They need to just start buying PC-21s and call it a day.

AF Light Air Support Aircraft
I have a buddy who's with OKC guard and he sent a picture of the cockpit. It looks like the bottom picture, not the top one so I don't know what's going on with the one at the Nellis air show.
