  1. Cleveland is 200 miles away, so I think you can rule that out. Columbus and Cincinnati are both about an hour's drive.
  2. Here's your AF answer Gliders: The program is the largest glider operation in the world. Its mission is to form the foundation of cadet exposure to military aviation, build character, and help motivate cadets toward a career in the United States Air Force. Powered Flight:To screen for aptitude, attitude, and adaptability while developing pilot candidates towards a military flying career. Jump: What started as a club training 25 students a year has grown into a premier character development program training 600 to 1,200 cadets annually and field nationally recognized competition and demonstration teams. Character development, screening, and intro to military flight programs; nothing too surprising.
  3. You should have refused pictures of our new secret green boots to mess with them.
  4. There is a Quaker Steak and Lube restaurant not too far from base; more unique than Buffalo Wild Wings and has good food. Also quite a few establishments around the shopping malls.
  5. Danger of Cell Phones During Takeoff and Landing Really?
  6. An online editorial addressing the "drones kill people" issue. The article has some good points, I think, but is sympathetic towards who we're in the fight against in a subtle way. "Extrajudicial execution" makes it sound like the Taliban/Al Qaeda aren't trying to kill Americans and innocent civilians every day like the stateless terrorist army they are. The four misconceptions are below with brief excerpts of the replies and summary. Don't Fear the Reaper: four misconceptions about how we think about drones.
  7. Saw this commentary on the dilution of 'respect' as a value in American society, which references the above WTF: 'Disrespect' Is Something You Earn: Everybody Thinks He's Rodney Dangerfield Now, Without The Sense Of Humor By Peter Funt
  8. I'd check back on that. A bunch made it through now. My count is 3 cheerleaders and 25 critics advocating shutdown. Surprised PA hasn't killed the comments.
  9. My comment didn't make it; what a shame.
  10. Strange, didn't the Chinese just make deals to sell the Pakistanis JF-17s and build/manage a naval facility? Nah, the Chinese were never near the wreckage.
  11. Then he'd have those crazy Sea Sheppard people from Whale Wars after him.
  12. When they were opening whiteman, one of the upt direct guts wanted to pcs there. Initially AFPC told him he couldn't do that without losing his follow on training spot. Eventually he bargained to keep a spot, with the penalty of a year longer in UAVs. So there's the glimmer of hope.
  13. Good perspective piece on SEALs, "The SEAL Sensibility"
  14. Part of it has to do with that career field pyramid AFPC swears by, since they are in effect constructing a new community. They actually turned down a number of volunteers at higher rank levels.
  15. Did you mean March 13, 2002? Thanks for taking quotes out of context. Here's the full response:
  16. We have created a tourist site in Abbottabad. There's something positive you can spin Pakistan!

  18. Wait, isn't the CRU the same, OBOGS or LOX?
  19. Unbelievable. Congress to Examine "Inappropriate" and "Devastating" Use of "Geronimo" Codename in bin Laden Mission
  20. Pakistan Criticizes US Raid on bin Laden Then maybe you should stop harboring terrorists, or step up your military readiness, which was clearly lacking if we invaded within 60 nm of your capital.
  21. I hear they're looking for a new OG exec. A brand new SOS grad seems like the perfect choice.
