  1. First, there can be only one bottom line; this message has 6-9. Second, if the Air Force began in 1947, by my count we have been around for 64 years, but I've been incorrect about math before. Finally, these rules are definitely not from our history and heritage, they are from 96.9 shoe clerk uniform boards in 64 years.
  2. Romo's Bitch strikes again.
  3. Same. My SQ/CC was wearing his, along with most of the aircrew I saw.
  4. Sand appears to be a color option: https://www.cheapestees.com/gillig100tsh.html
  5. I've seen the opposite: Friday shirts still worn by and large.
  6. Except what we had there was a Kearsarge sitting off the coast of Libya, which had several long-range SAMs, but I digress. Kelly Johnson's rule: Never work with the Navy on an acquisition program.
  7. You already have special ops fighter pilots, don't be greedy.
  8. Nice, so then the F-35 can be more expensive per unit than the F-22.
  9. I think the main reason that the Brits were pursuing that version is because they don't have any full size carriers currently, but didn't they change their mind recently and plan to build a supercarrier coupled with purchasing the F-35C instead?
  10. Do they have a plan for what to do when they cancel it? I doubt it. The aircraft it is supposed to replace aren't getting any younger; with the excruciating length of any acquisition process these days, the B-52 and the Super Hornets will be the only manned weapon carrying aircraft left flying when the solution starts flying.
  11. Probably, unless you can work a conditional admission whereby you can take classes, but are not granted full student status until you complete the GMAT with the required score.
  12. That modifier removed, they're testing such a machine right now. It's too bad, really, because I think any one of us would rather fly an AT-6 or OV-10.
  13. Explorer to Embark on Quest to Find Body of Osama Bin Laden Hoping this is a hoax.
  14. Cleveland is 200 miles away, so I think you can rule that out. Columbus and Cincinnati are both about an hour's drive.
  15. Here's your AF answer Gliders: The program is the largest glider operation in the world. Its mission is to form the foundation of cadet exposure to military aviation, build character, and help motivate cadets toward a career in the United States Air Force. Powered Flight:To screen for aptitude, attitude, and adaptability while developing pilot candidates towards a military flying career. Jump: What started as a club training 25 students a year has grown into a premier character development program training 600 to 1,200 cadets annually and field nationally recognized competition and demonstration teams. Character development, screening, and intro to military flight programs; nothing too surprising.
  16. You should have refused pictures of our new secret green boots to mess with them.
  17. There is a Quaker Steak and Lube restaurant not too far from base; more unique than Buffalo Wild Wings and has good food. Also quite a few establishments around the shopping malls.
  18. Danger of Cell Phones During Takeoff and Landing Really?
  19. An online editorial addressing the "drones kill people" issue. The article has some good points, I think, but is sympathetic towards who we're in the fight against in a subtle way. "Extrajudicial execution" makes it sound like the Taliban/Al Qaeda aren't trying to kill Americans and innocent civilians every day like the stateless terrorist army they are. The four misconceptions are below with brief excerpts of the replies and summary. Don't Fear the Reaper: four misconceptions about how we think about drones.
  20. Saw this commentary on the dilution of 'respect' as a value in American society, which references the above WTF: 'Disrespect' Is Something You Earn: Everybody Thinks He's Rodney Dangerfield Now, Without The Sense Of Humor By Peter Funt
