  1. 2. Your best case is to find some sort of medical study published in a peer revied journal that has people returning to our style of work in a shorter amount of time than 6 months. Case in point, I had a disc replacement. Waiver guide says 6 months DNIF for replacement, but I have a study from 2010 that follows SEALs and Marine infantry after having disc replacement done. They were back to helocasting and jumping after 3 months. I'm going to submit the waiver at the 3 month point and see what they say. My FS is on board, but of course the tune changes if you're in an ejection seat aircraft, which I am not.
  2. The AIB won't start any interviews until after the SIB is complete, so the answer to your question xaarman is no. The intent is to get the SIB/safety information out to the aircrews as quickly as possible. Also, there isn't always an AIB or a CDI. It's important to stress that regardless of being read your rights, an individual ALWAYS has his or her 5th Amendment and Article 31 rights. Being read your rights just means the interviewers have some sort of inclination that you have done something negligent/illegal, and are trying to make it admissible under rules of evidence. And I also hope people realize that safety privilege does not equal legal immunity. Look up the safety AFI for the rules.
  3. Actually: 1. Crush your enemies. 2. See them driven before you. 3. Hear the lamentations of their women.
  4. yeah those training sorties looked really intense...
  5. more like U for improper tac approach setup and execution. Rule of 8s...
  6. They had this at Sun Life stadium when I was home over Christmas...blew my mind. It really is that awesome.
  7. 2. I live there now. Awesome location. Across the street from UNM, .5 mile walking distance to the bars/restaurants at Nob Hill, about 2.0 from downtown, and there are plenty of places to get food within walking distance. It's about a 10-15 min drive from my parking lot to the parking lot of the squadron, depending on traffic. As far as getting a non-A goes, I'm single without pets and plenty of other single guys without pets have got one. You just have to be a little persistent.
  8. The cream may rise to the top, but shit also floats.
  9. "I have trained my finger to move the selector lever of an M4 rifle to safe in such detail that as I fire my weapon it has become second nature." 1. I just had a mental image of this dude standing in front of a mirror cocking and safeing (sp?) his weapon repeatedly while telling himself how badass he is. 2. I guess I never realized how much coordination it took to move the selector lever. I guess I'm a natural just like the Chief.
  10. Happened to this guy about a year ago. OG/CC himself (Eagle driver) felt it necessary to have a one-on-one to figure out why I wanted to fly helos. He wasn't a dick about it, but I think its ridiculous nonetheless.
  11. I figured today is as good as any to remember the crew of Pedro 66. Here's an article about the incident from the Brits' point of view. Link That others may live. Rest easy brothers, and Happy Veterans Day to all.
  12. Hey everybody, I'm not going to be PCSing to Kadena until Feb/Mar of 2011 (no RIP or orders yet), but I'm going to be TDY enroute the whole time up until then, and I had a few overseas questions: -Good places/suggestions for a single guy to live? -How does the whole cell phone/call back to the states thing work? -For motorcycle riders: is having a cruiser bike going to be a pain in the ass? i.e. are the streets not suitable for that kind of riding? Thanks a bunch, Slops
