  1. I'd keep the faith for a few more days just to see and then inquire later this week. Also, ignore everything about phone interviews. Go in person.
  2. Hoping someone can help me with this... My unit is having issues gaining me into MILPDS (it has been a couple months since I swore in). Apparently after I am pushed from AFRISS, I just disappear in the system instead of showing up into MILPDS. What they believe to be the issue is my background: I am a non-prior who was originally selected on an AD pilot board and then I was selected by my guard unit approximately 1 month prior to my OTS date. Has anyone gone through this before?
  3. This is probably the most important part while being on the UPT chase. I was told that your package gets you the interview and the interview gets you the job. So when I wasn't selected after an interview, I asked for feedback from the board members on my interview. Thankfully they were pretty brutal with me. It hurt my ego, but it helped immensely on later boards.
  4. There most definitely is a prerequisite course that you are tested on during the first or second week of OTS now. Start making phone calls/emailing people. If you don’t have OTS contacts for that, I can dig them up and PM you. Edit: Pulled them up & PM’ed. Anyone else in a similar situation let me know and I’ll do the same.
  5. 154th in Hawaii is having a joint board in the spring. Packages due December 22. Age waivers are being considered. Call a recruiting office and tell them you're interested in submitting a package to the pilot board and they'll get you setup. If for some reason you're unable to get your afoqt and/or tbas complete by the due date, submit anyways and get them done asap and update your application once complete.
  6. I had mine put: MEMORANDUM FOR AIR FORCE OFFICER SELECTION BOARD ... To Whom It May Concern: Some boards wanted it formatted and addressed a specific way. I'd recommend asking your LORs to give you a Word document format of the letter under the stipulation that all you're changing is the heading, date, and who it is addressed to. If they're comfortable, they'll let you.
  7. “Thank you very much for your time.” *shake all hands*
  8. http://access.afpc.af.mil/pcsmdmz//AFOQTPrepMaterials.html That website is God over anything in the books, FYI. ESPECIALLY on the table reading, don’t use the books for that.
  9. Nonsense. To add to this, the only units I saw hire from the street on my journey did so in addition to from within. (Small, anecdotal sample) Study for the AFOQT & TBAS as if you only have one shot at it.
  10. Has anyone only needed to do the MFS? Curious how the experience differs if you already have your FCI.
  11. Search limitless, first option on the results page is something to the effect of “Choose which credit card option is best for you.” Pretty generic sounding title, just looks like it’s taking you to a credit card page. Once I clicked that, Limitless was the top option.
  12. Anyone going long on Illinois Muni Bonds?
  13. Are you referring to the NGB? How often do they meet?
  14. I'm not sure why some units look at the 201 score if the hours aren't there, but regardless, package gets the interview, interview (and the entire event of the weekend) wins you the job. On paper you're good enough and now they want to see if you're a good fit otherwise. Don't worry about this one data point.
  15. While I'm a bit disappointed to see the growing trend of monetizing the guard application process, bogidope's job listings are more comprehensive than afpilotjobs'. And last time I checked the bogidope site, the job listing page is free (not the fancy map, but the basic list). I got interviewed by a unit I never would have known was even having a board due to bogidope, as it wasn't listed on afpilotjobs. (I do not pay a subscription to bogidope)
  16. Well, since it's down again, anywhere you'd recommend us 2x'ers go?
  17. I don't know the answer to the first part, so here goes on the second. You will essentially be ready to apply to the NGB immediately, as long as your unit is cool with doing that without the MFS. However, your unit's recruiter can't transfer your MEPS paperwork until AD releases it. This will take a lot longer than you expect it to, unless your AD recruiter is cool about it. They have no incentive to help you out and do this quickly. Once your recruiter has the MEPs stuff and all your paperwork done (which it will be since it's easy stuff, faster than AD & MEPs), I think the MEPs just needs a quick signoff by the state SG (I forget who it is) before it goes to the NGB. Everything else will be dependent on how fast your unit wants to move you. They may be fine with taking the risk of sending you to OTS without the MFS, I've heard of it happening, but I've also heard of units getting burned by that decision. I'd just expect to have to get an age waiver. Make sure the unit(s) you're applying to/getting accepted by know it is significantly easier of a process to get one than it was in the past. A lot don't want to do them because it used to be much more of a headache than it is now.
  18. If you have a DD2808 stamped saying "Medically Qualified for FCI Pending Successful Completion of MFS" you will not need to do another FCI. http://www.wpafb.af.mil/Welcome/Fact-Sheets/Display/Article/853108/usafsam-fci-medical-flight-screening/ All info at the link. An FCI is no good if it is stamped "pending successful completion of MFS."
  19. Go to airforceots.com Search for user Earthtogreg ???? Profit
  20. Everyone was emailed this past weekend, both selected and not.
  21. We were told interview selections were delayed until the "end of the month" a couple weeks ago.
  22. I did. We're supposed to find out tonight or tomorrow morning who made it to the in-person interviews.
  23. Yes. No worries! It's tough when most of us hear absolutely nothing back and we just have to pass around info we gather.
