  3. Don't they have a guard unit there? Couldn't you just do that? Sent from my iPhone using Baseops Network Forums
  4. Tami-21. Solved all of the generals problems. Maybe we should have a Tami-22. What do you think that would look like? Sent from my iPhone using Baseops Network Forums

  7. I am filling an AGR spot and a possible job offer came open that allows me to work a different job for half a day a month on a non interference base with my primary pilot job. It doesn't make a ton but it's a nice bonus. My bosses don't want me to because they are worried about time logging for this job during the day while I am also an AGR. I would have a different uniform that I wear for this job and then change and go into work for my AGR position. My bosses are worried and don't think that I can do another job while AGR and they think that since the job is for a civilian outfit who renders services back to my wing once and a while that there may be a conflict of interest. Anybody know anything about this? I informally spoke to base legal and they didn't see a problem as long as leadership was okay with it. And the reason leadership isn't okay with it doesn't seem to hold water. Thoughts?
  8. Anyone know how to download a forum / chat for offline reading? Got a long flight coming up and I'm trying to download a multiple page forum to catch up on some base ops reading. Thanks for any help.
  9. Incorrect fact. Non tac air guys have been in RPA seats from the beginning. Incorrect Assumption. You think I am implying that E's aren't good enough. Or that I think this is some sort of class issue like the royals vs the surfs or something ridiculous. Got anything else or just going to keep spouting off?
  10. Fun with assumptions. If everyone else is doing it so they should to is your argument then tell me.....why do you think it is the way it is?
  11. Holy F dude. You realize 15 years ago your argument would be on whether or not tanker and 130 guys had the tactical where with all and experience to release ordnance and that only Viper/Hawg/Strike guys should be shooting from drones right? What's funny is death from above within the BSOs AOR has nothing to do with whether you are a 1Lt or LtCol or E3, and everything to do with that BSOs approval authority passed through that JTAC via a 9 line. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Your first point literally makes zero sense. Also don't forget that even though the JTAC gives the cleared hot the air craft commander has the final day of whether or not to release weapons. If you are going to challenge the norm and rationales used for why this shouldn't happen just because of a pilot manning problem you are going to have to do better than that with your arguments.
  12. And none of those have to do with aircraft.....
  13. Ummm what? You realize we have E's sitting in something with as much Firepower as an MLRS accepting fire missions, verifying coordinates, and releasing what is a metric butt load of Angry explosives right? Your CCTs on the ground control and coordinate the release of everything from a 20mm gun run to a fully loaded B-1 bomber... Do they not have rank and pay enough for that level of responsibility? Because the ALO they work for sure gets paid more without the responsibility. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Yeah saying Officers should be responsible for effects sounds rational, but only in a vacuum when you don't look at the dozens of other readily available examples of high responsibility jobs done by enlisted personnel where a guy with stripes and no bars has the yes/no on whether something happens. Great example: Jump Master Didn't see any reasons stated as to why an E should be in charge of and final authority for an airframe dropping ordinance without any non E oversight. In all of those examples you have O's making the final decision.
  14. Well the rest of the military agrees that enlisted shouldn't be the sole responsibility of release of ordinance from aircraft so I'd say the burden lies on you friend.
  15. Would love to hear your thoughts on why "E's" can't employ weapons properly? I bet it's great. How about we hear why you think they can or want to be burdened with the responsibility for 1/4 of the pay?
  16. You are obviously being sarcastic, but to answer your question anyways. No. It only got difficult when the AF decided to put new engine pods on them. GE (?) told them to put the gearbox on the side of the pod like you see on modern day 737s (would cost around $10K more per jet IIRC) but the Air Force would rather just scrape pods and then hang the crews. Cuz that's leadership. Nope. Just being inquisitive. [emoji6]. Thanks for the answer.
  17. That's just the line I was fed.
  18. So one bar and the smell of cow fecal matter doesn't meet your bar?
  19. Think more about connectivity not physical buildings
  20. The reason the current bases were largely chosen was for already in place infrastructure which would be crazy expensive to redo into bases not equipped with said infrastructure. As for E's conducting strategic ISR, I agree. But in reference to conducting ISR and providing kinetics or lasers that aide in kinetics to the battlefield from a platform that has offensive weapons, I disagree.
  21. Was it as hard to land as the 135R?
  22. Makes it seem like the one criticizing for lack of critical thinking is themselves not thinking or participating in a forum using critical thinking, just big words.
  23. Umm, the name is Air University. As a military academic institution, ACSC ain't Harvard Business School, but it follows standard academic processes. As ThreeHoler indicated, anyone wanting to use survey data in their ACSC coursework will have to jump through the school's hoops. It's no different (and likely worse) in civilian institutions. TT Much better explanation than jumping to an uninformed conclusion that I don't know any academic types. Thanks TnkrToad
  24. I wish I could more strongly like a post or double/triple like a post. But you can't triple stamp a double stamp.
