Sounds like they need to consult some good ole boy southern duck hunters to cover it in Real Tree Camo as a finishing touch.

Commanders are dropping like flies this year

Circular run of his torpedo -
https://www.cbsnews.com/amp/news/colombian-president-alleged-drug-boat-from-his-country-white-house-baseless/ Sounds like the bad guys are trying a PR campaign to help ease the pressure. I doubt anyone on the boats were actually innocent.

I get your point, but I see a big difference between an in-state deployment with the consent of your governor on an international border and going out of state. The local population in Illinois may not be very supportive of another state's troops. It's starting to sound almost like a COIN fight in the US. I'm sure a lot of the targets of ICE raids have popped smoke and moved somewhere else while the heat is on in Chicago. Like a game of whack-a-mole. Damn where have I seen this before? 🤦♂️

Shot down by an unmanned boat? That's a new wrinkle.

Lot of nuance on this issue. There was a report of a father who was admittedly in the US illegally who was arrested by ICE who's sons who are US citizens were all serving in the Marines. Father of Marine veteran released after being beaten and arrested by ICE agents . as an example. As for recruiting and retention we are only 6 months into this, so I see it depending a lot on what happens going forward. Worst case is a Kent State scenario. Longest pole in the tent is something all in the military understand is sustainably and logistics. Side note is this is why I like those with a military background to serve in government because politicians often make all kinds of promises with no clue how to make a plan work in the real world. 300 Guardsmen for 60 days? I can't say what long term effects will be. How long can they be away from their civilian jobs before they get surly? We all ask as taxpayers how much are we willing to spend long term. Just scratching the surface. I admit the sight of US military policing our streets provoke a visceral reaction on my part and what's to stop a Democratic Administration from doing the same thing in the future?

Looks like a C-17 flew the Texas Guard to Chicago. I know we've all embraced our fair share of military suck but I'm curious how BO community feels about this mission. I can definitely see a long-term effect on recruiting and retention in the Army Guard depending how this all shakes out. More than a few enlisted in the Army/Marine Corps are not US citizens or have family members who aren't.

21 st Century BattleBot competition. I think you're in to something. -
In other not so news. This was over 20 years ago on SNL so he got off with an apology.

Around August 30th would be good. The Taliban like to have a big parade with most of their leadership in the bleachers.

All depends on the political winds. Didn't ABC fire Roseanne Barr?

How many on BO would volunteer to pay 60 k and be restricted to base for 2 months to walk away with an O-7 retirement? -
I think I see the issue. You need a caliber that starts with 4. 😁

Lol. I have a Henry in 44 mag. Fun gun to shoot but the feed ramp can catch some rounds especially if they have sharp edges. Every time I clean it I have YouTube on to help me and I ask myself if buying it in the first place was a good idea.

I'm betting they're trying to strong arm the homeowner not to sue. We'll drop the indictment if you agree not to sue. They have unlimited taxpayer money to come after the homeowner while most average people don't have deep pockets.

I'm dumfounded for how many out there of certain political persuasions are calling for release of the "evidence" that are clueless that release could compromise sources and methods. Of course, there are those fully aware and call for release anyway knowing it can't be for those very reasons but like to score political points. Not to mention the brave operators out there who make it their mission in life to go do bad things to bad people on a daily basis and their actions never make the media especially if they do their job right. I'm no commercial fisherman but those don't look like any fishing boats I've ever seen. If for no other reason I see no way to store any catch in any meaningful amount let alone no rigging/nets I can see.

VIDEO: U.S. Military Strikes 2nd Narco Boat in Southern Command - USNI News Didn't see this already posted but it brightened my day

I think a lot of venues will start avoiding these types of events because of the risk nowadays. Especially if their insurance carrier says no to coverage. Governments regulate some things, but the insurance companies are the pseudo regulatory agency of many aspects of life.

More buffoonery from the great state of Florida

We went Sunday and it was intense. I certainly agree that Chapman should have been given a more complete display but given the totality of all the exhibits it was worth the trip. Our guide did say the sensor operator from Chapman's action visited not that long ago though the guide didn't say what discussions if any were had. One story about Cpl Rubin really hit me. Brass Balls the size of the moon if you ask me. Most MOH actions are an intense sprint where this guy ran the marathon. Medal of Honor Monday: Army Cpl. Tibor Rubin > U.S. Department of War > Story

I like how John Clark quoted the Sundance Kid. "Think You Used Enough Dynamite Butch?" At least in the book version.

Joby Logs 7,000 Autonomous Miles in Military Exercise More on the subject. I admit I didn't know about this. -
Honestly, I wouldn't be surprised that Maduro at some point gets the Soleimani Treatment depending on how the stars align. Clearly the strike was a very public message the gloves are off. That said now we should use a lot of nonpublic strikes that don't make the news if we aren't already. Out of sight out of mind for all but the targets. Strikes at sea especially leave very little evidence behind. I know semi-submersibles are used to try and evade sensors especially from above though real USN Submarines excel at tracking acoustic signatures. Of course, if you're using a semi-submersible that's Prima Facie your up to no good and are a candidate to become an artificial reef. To me our drone capability is perfect for these types of missions and has benefited from last 20 years of operations worldwide and present minimal risk to our side.

One hard part imho will be mixing with manned aircraft at un-towered and minimal equipped ATC facilities at many 3rd world airports
