Yep, and it requires little-to-no additional training for airdrop qualified crews.

I can see very little reason not to have this as a hip-pocket cape.

You gonna plan those shots, too?  Because if you’ve ever done any JASSM planning for a contested environment you should know how much of a bullshit statement that is.

Have you seen the spending bills passed over the last 15+ years?  Not to mention the absurdity being proposed in the current Congress?  Congress doesn’t care about spending money...but they do care who receives it.

And right now maintaining military and defense spending isn’t high on their priority list.

These “diversity chiefs” and MEO types are the worst kind of people.  They are an infection to the military. I am sure the PRC has diversity chiefs in its’ higher echelons...It’s going to get worse before it ever gets better - that or we will go the way of the Romans.

    Yeah....they’re called political officers

  5. I suppose I’m being delusional in hoping the DoD COVID policy reacts quickly to the new CDC guidelines. Everybody in my shop volunteered and has gotten the vaccine. Why am I still required to wear this damn mask?

Hell, "tucked in while not working out" is still a step in the right direction.  I've been told to tuck in my shirt while running on a treadmill at AUAB.

I think I would’ve invited the person issuing such a statement to politely indulge in self-fornication

Why for the love of everything sacred do we insist on designing PT uniforms to require a tucked-in t-shirt?!

How do you expect to look professional when you’re getting your sweat on if you can’t keep your shirt tucked in????

Neither supporting him or poopooing him, but to be fair, your three articles are from early 2020 when nobody knew anything about COVID and what it was or how it was going to spread. Now, has he been right?  Dunno...the “we may be wearing masks into 2022” thing has me pissed off though. North Dakota’s total infections and daily positive rates have dropped and stayed low even a month or more after the state mask mandate wasn’t renewed, and we were a hotspot over the fall.

Can anyone who was involved in this process speak to the reason a C-130 is included with a U-28 as not needing multi-engine time?

I think it can be argued that a C-130 is probably the top multi-engine aircraft for difficulty flying in engine out operations.  Between blown lift/flaps/ailerons and changing p-factor on top of asymmetric operations, a strong foundation in multi-engine operations seems fundamental to flying a C-130 far more than a C-5 or KC-135.  It might even be argued that the T-1 formation low level is most analogous to a C-130J and C-17 than any other MAF aircraft in terms of mission management.

To that logic, you could almost argue we need our own T-44/TC-12 track. I’m sure a few dozen King Airs wouldn’t be that expensive to acquire and operate.

Range time isn't the reason they're behind the timeline. I think the plan is to use the Rucker LZs as of now but now you have zero high DA training.

There is no way that the Eglin ranges could support another customer and it's 100+ miles each way.

Given where these things will be based (AFGSC missile bases), do you necessarily need high DA training?  Asking out of ignorance.
