The CAF seems to have figured this out, aren’t most CAF CCs and DOs weapons officers?
At least in Buff land...many but not all.

Just PCSd to a certain northern base with a huge amount of cops...why oh why is the patch setup on the OCP backward from the bag? I.e wing patch on the right shoulder and squadron on the left. Weird...

Control locks left in maybe, or elevator jammed full up? Odd to see a DC-3 attempt a three point lift off like that.

If you want brain cancer, browse through 7BW PA’s FB reposting of this story. The mouth breathers were out in force in the comments section poopooing the AF for awarding the DFC to this crew. IMHO....well deserved for handling a dicey situation!

I truly thoroughly despise the TSA....nothing but a goon squad and jobs program.

Great work, though.
That’s on its way, supposedly.

Had a buddy just get picked up by Meridian, so they’re hiring.

Well in my little reserve world I was just told that we are "required" to wear the OCPs over the tan bags now.....even if the crew wants to wear bags....
.......why......? I'd expect something like that from AD, but the reserves?

Rumor says it was an FTU crew.

I flew on my "Down day"....go figure.

I sure hope they don't go full retard and try and take the bags . We're also going to look retarded wearing coyote boots...

Could be wrong, but I don't think the Naval Reserve direct commissions like AFRC or the ANG does. I think you have to be in, serve some AD time then move over.

Hallelujah...never thought I’d see this happen

Maybe it's just the times in which we live, but is anyone else bothered about the posting/airing of accident footage before the next of kin notification and initial investigation process can take place?
This. Not so much a problem on this board where the discourse is professional, but the keyboard warriors and flight sim super pilots Monday morning QBing on Facebook really pisses me off.

Been flying a Piper Comanche 250 lately. A buddy I work with owns it, and generously added me to his insurance policy. Thing will scoot! Lots of room and I don’t think you could really get it out of CG if you tried.

If you don't mind me asking, with what unit? And how much time in service?

Separate but related is nearly anything by James Hornfischer. He writes USN in the Pacific during WWII stuff. Haven't read a bad one yet. In particular, "Last Stand of the Tin Can Sailors" is amazing.
Loved that one. Read it for a class in college. Very good!

Not aviation related directly, but military...I'm on Vol II of Rick Atkinson's Liberation Trilogy about WWII in Europe. Volume 1 (An Army at Dawn) covers the North African Campaign, while Vol II (The Day of Battle) covers Sicily and the Italian campaign. Highly recommended for WWII history buffs.

I just don’t get where free internet turned into $100/month.
Trend item out here- services and contracting are incompetent.

Pro tip- get a router and split one login. You can log on three devices at once and the router doesn't count against your total. Four dudes/dudettes can share the most expensive plan for $45 out of pocket each. Still a pain in the ass, but hey, fight the system however you can right?

I did have a buddy get picked up by the March tanker unit at 34, with probably eight years on AD. So who knows? Ask! All they can do is tell you no.

EFSS is an absolute abortion out here. The lodging office has flat out refused to communicate or cooperate with the bomb squadron.

2. Interacted with him when he was the wing king on Guam. This is a positive, in my book.
