The idea that we should only have assets that can fly west of Taiwan is ludicrous.
That's exactly the mindset of our brass right now, though. Ref. F-15C, AWACS, JSTARS, and A-10 retirements.

Agree, and a great reason why we shouldn't lower the voting age to 16.... as one of the parties is trying to do
So you’re not mature enough to make an informed decision to smoke now until 21 because nanny state, can still enlist and get killed in a foreign land at 18, but you can make a rational informed decision about the future of the country at 16…brilliant…what were we saying about mental disorders?

The thing that has me scratching my head is Trump’s vice grip on the evangelical vote. This is a guy who cheated on his wife with a porn star, then paid a bunch of hush money to cover it up…yet the evangelical right worships and adores the ground he walks on. Completely incongruous.

Wait until they attach lasers to the heads of sharks.
That could be dangerous.
Especially ill tempered sharks.
Now what if we put them in some kind of tornadic delivery system…🤔

my ANG base... a tanker base out of all places, no more morale shirts. Some damn first shirt at the wing level complaint and now it's a big no-no. So f@#$ those guys I am wear a scarf as a big F you to these NONers.
Theoretically…what is a first sergeant gonna do if all the pilots/booms in the squadron choose to ignore their complaint and wear morale shirts anyway?

No shit there I was…Buckley SFB and I have to go do a urinalysis. I am waiting with 6 to 9 others (1 of whom is a chick) for our pee gazers to be available. The chick says she is ready to go and her observer was a trans individual transitioning from male to female. She said she wasn’t comfortable and I could see storm clouds brewing…
Not sure how that all turned out but I can report that I had one of those life changing pisses like Lloyd Christmas in the Mutt Cutt’s van.
Ok, Paul Harvey, what’s the rest of that story?

I hate to admit that one of the first things I check in a bio is number of Air Medals a senior leader has. My thought being that those who have reached O-6 to Flag rank in current times were in their prime during GWOT and had ample opportunity to deploy. Not even based on heroic flying or anything but just being there and getting participation ribbons.
Obviously exceptions exist (Eagle/Raptor dudes being a great example), but when I see AFSOC dudes with 1 Air Medal it really makes me wonder.
There's a whole generation of Buff dudes/dudettes who did their Lt/Capt time doing six months on Guam at a stretch, and were on staff/IDE/whatever during the OIR days. Like you said...obvious exceptions. I will say, the jet getting blood on her beak again did wonders for the community, even if it was just playing ISIS whack-a-mole.

Bunch of Buff types with fucked up backs. Same parachute setup as the T-38, and longer duration sorties. I had to get an X-ray for something else recently, and the radiologist noted I had "multi-level spinal degeneration"....yaaaay!

@SocialD I know two people who “retired,” and months later were told, “sorry, we messed up when we thought 2+3=7, so you still owe 2 more months of duty to retire. See you on Sat for drill! Oh, and you’re also overdue for a PT test, plus you might as well expect a piss test too”
Welp, guess I'll just keep being overdue, so.....GFY

3. Aviation pay cap has increased to $1500 and the structure for receiving it is changing quite a bit. It is incentivizing upgrades by paying the most to evaluators and the least to copilots. But if you for example FAIP and are immediately an instructor you will receive more pay right of the bat and don't lose it once you change your airframe. This is nice so you never have to start over and it incentivizes FAIPing.
4. They are also looking to pay school house instructors more than line instructors to incentivize going to AETC for a tour.
5. Special Pay is also something being considered for WIC, TPS, AIC, AIS). Nothing final for this but it is something they are considering.
There is ZERO WAY the implementation of this is not completely fucked up like a football bat.

Agreed. I just wish we weren't giving away everything now, with none of the replacement capes expected to be on the ramp in maybe even this decade.
