  1. Already a SELRES in a flying squadron and applying to another SELRES flying squadron.
  2. Does anyone know of any documents that would explain (hopefully in layman's terms) how to read an OPR? Long story short, I switched over to the Navy Reserve and I'm going before an application board soon and I need to include some of my last OPRs from the AF. The board won't know how to tell a good OPR from a bad one. They won't understand things like stratifications, etc. Is there anything out there that would decipher OPR merits? Thanks!
  3. SocialD, I’m just starting at DAL. I know it’ll probably be a few years until I can hold your category, but would you mind sharing your base and equipment? Your schedule sounds fantastic! Thanks.
  4. Hoss, what aircraft are you on? Got hired last month and (hopefully) start soon. Tryin to get an idea of pay and quality of life.
  5. You could also use a service like LegalZoom if you're doing an LLC. Like the other poster said, an S-Corp can be beneficial because you can take some salary as "distributions" which isn't subject to self-employment taxes, but I would read up on that before going forward. The IRS will come after you if all of your salary taken as a distribution. You have to be able to justify what you take as a reasonable salary and what can be a distribution/dividend. Get a lawyer and CPA...it'll make your life easier.
  6. I thought ALL of it was the DIPSHIT branch

  9. Those assclowns don't know anything. All they do is read the MyPers website and the PSDMs. Any of you calling will know more about force mismanagement than they do. I spoke with the Flt/CC in charge of manpower at my base today. She said that she hasn't heard anything new with regards to VSP and that AFPC has done a poor job keeping them in the loop lately. Big fvcking surprise! Furthermore, something to keep our eye will be if a decision is made before Thursday when the new VSP window opens. No decision could be a sign for more possible postponement. You can't have 2 sep apps in the system simultaneously. Additionally, according to Gen Welsh, the intent was not to subject anyone for the RIF if they applied for VSP (and got denied) in the same year. The Flt/CC I just spoke with brought up a good point...is that for a calendar or fiscal year? How will All Fvcking Poor Choices (AFPC) interpret that? Technically, the RIF board is in a new fiscal year even though it only moved from August to October. I'm all for a coordinated effort to put pressure on AFPC, A1, CoS, whoever. This messing with people's lives has to stop.
  10. The most appropriate song would be Hotel California
  11. Don't worry, you can apply for round 2 of VSP that opens next Thursday. Oh wait...
  12. If true, UFB! Not surprised, but UFB. So, when it gets pushed again next week, then what? Whoever is in charge of this clusterfvck needs to be held accountable. It's time to name the names in charge of this catastrophe. Someone needs to get fired. Immediately. There needs to be a face to this prolonged, epic #2 sandwich...Chief of Separations, AFPC/CC, somebody.
  13. I hope you're correct. I just called the TFSC, mainly for own twisted entertainment. Here's a brief synopsis of the conversation. My question: What's the status of my VSP app? The AFPC website said mid-May in one place and within 10 days of May 1st in another place. No matter if you look at as 10 business days or calendar days, that time has expired. (puts me on hold to look at my application status) TFSC Rep: I took a look at your application and it says it still processing right now. We don't when they're going to process it. It might be delayed for another week or two. I think there's going to be new guidance coming out possibly delaying the processing further. Me: What? TFSC Rep: Well sir, there's so many rumors and PDSMs floating around now and I can't tell you anything for certain. Me: Well, I'm also subject to the RIF in Oct and the new VSP window open next Thursday and I wouldn't be able to apply in the new VSP window because AFPC hasn't processed my first application. That would be unfair. So, there will be a new PDSM? TFSC Rep: No, no. They'll just release an amended one updating the guidance. Me: Ok. Air Force members call the TFSC to get help. We should be able to get reliable information here. Ok, right now, what can you tell me that's fact, something concrete that I can tell my family? TFSC Rep: Well, sir. Unfortunately, nothing right now. Me: Ok, thank you for your time. We've reach full retard on this process long ago. I just reread this exchange before I'm about to post it and I'm laughing hysterically. But this shit is not funny Also received this email after my phone call. Here's the official response from the email... "Thank you for contacting myPers - Total Force Service Center. All remaining VSP applications will be adjudicated after 1 May 14 to include those inspected by waiver authorities. AFPC intends to inform members of approval status not later than mid May." Enjoy!
  14. AFPC is wrong again. They needed authority to waive certain ADSCs for FY14 Force Management Programs. Remember PDSM 13-65 which outlined all FY14 FM programs and said that certain commitments weren't waiverable, namely UPT. They used 13-65 as an excuse to kick back some VSP apps saying they didn't have waiver authority. Well, they received authority to waive a sh!tton of ADSCs. AFPC needs to stop FVCKING around, read their god damn PSDMs, and then here's the kicker....DO THEIR JOB. If I can sort through all of these PSDMs since December and comprehend what they're saying and do my real job, they can do theirs (which is actually to read the PDSMs and implement them). If this shit keeps up, we're going to need force management resiliency training!
  15. I just received my RIF Preselection Brief, so there's that. Now, let me quit before you can fire me
  16. Chizz, If you look closely at the numbers in the matrix, there are some changes to both the "overage" and "eligible columns". You are correct though, the title still says "FY14". I didn't notice that before because my eyes went directly to the numbers. Good catch. Would you expect anything less from AFPC? Why proofread anything when you can just release a revised PSDM? PM me if you want to compare this last matrix from the original one released in Jan. I still have it.
  17. That would mean that FY14 and FY15 VSP would be occurring simultaneously. What could go wrong? Also, to the best of my knowledge, you can only have one separation app in the system at a time be it VSP, PC, etc. I seriously hope that notifications do not extend into the FY15 window, which opens 22 May. What a disaster.
  18. Was there a deadline that was supposed to happen today? I had heard "mid May" or May 15th as one. I fully expect to be disappointed in 3 more days. I just want to make sure there's not a reason to be disappointed now. You have to spread it out a little bit.
  19. I could have sworn AFPC was letting people know if they needed a new IRR statement. I think someone on this forum posted that AFPC informed them that they needed to sign a new IRR. In any case, after all of the conflicting guidance so far, that's a horrible reason to deny someone. Seriously, there have been at least 4 different PSDMs and then one was rescinded right before the latest window opened. I have an email from AFPC telling me to use "old" guidance. You better believe I kept it. And clown show rolls on...
  20. I think red means they've reached their magic number for your YG/AFSC for FY14 Force Management, so I don't think you'd be able to apply for 1-1 since that's a FY14 program, but who knows. You should still be good for traditional PC. It says "approximately". They've left themselves an out. I guess it's slightly better than the blatant lying/misinformation that's been going on since Dec
  21. Thanks Fresh. Hopefully I'll hear a yes or no on VSP soon before I get an assignment.
  22. Question for those who are applying under the FY14 Palace Chase. PSDM 13-65 states you're ineligible for FY14 Program if... "Under assignment consideration, have an assignment, or notified of selection for assignment electing to exercise the 7-day option." Does being on the VML constitute being under assignment consideration? I have not received an assignment yet and don't anticipate receiving one for at least a few months (Fall VML), but I'm trying to work a backup plan in case VSP doesn't work out. I wish I would have applied for Palace Chase from the beginning, but I'm too far down the VSP rabbit hole now. It seems like PC applicants are having pretty good luck so far. Thanks for any input.
  23. Yea, I was wondering about that same thing. The original Voluntary Eligibilty matrix (blue/red) said they would base 11xx and 12xx eligibilty on RDTM. This PAS is new. They just keep adding more stipulations and qualifiers to this mess. At a certain point, your goal is either to reduce 11xx/12xx YGs or not. This could be yet another instance of moving the goal posts.
