The Jill Metzger thread
What a letdown. I appreciate the work these guys are doing but they are starting to sound a bit whacko to me.

Wasting your money, those lock "keys" are a dime a dozen. Just draws attention to your bag as containing possible values.

Two pilots dead in T-38C crash at Columbus AFB
It is simply amazing to see the level of detail they can contribute the crash to most of the time. When I think of a crash after take off I'm not picturing too much intact pieces of the aircraft left. To be able to have enough of the aileron linkage left to determine that it broke from fatigue is amazing. Would love to go to the Crash Investigation course sometime.

Uk Interest Rates
Figured I'd throw this out there since nobody I know can answer it. Why are the UK banks offer such high interest rates with very few restrictions. My friends account has a 1000 gbp minimum but gathers 8-9% monthly with no fee and the only restriction is that if you make any withdraws for that month you accrue 0 interest for that month. Best stateside rate I can find is 3.2% with ING. Can someone help me out here.

Wife and I were never told or even knew to get an official passport. Had to get a VISA when we got here and they put it right in her tourist PP with no issues. Just because it worked for us doesn't mean fortune will smile upon you as well :)

'Where are your troops, and may I count them?'...
Thanks for the explanation.

'Where are your troops, and may I count them?'...
It was in a local paper here. Basically he requested that the base do something and they didn't. He then started making these email claims. The claims were investigated and not found to be damaging or worth any further effort. He didn't like their answer so then started releasing emails he claimed to have received. Base still didn't do what he wanted so now it continues. I believe he had some damage done to some of his property or something of the like and is now on a mission to discredit the USAF in the area. I'm confused as to how someone would actually email this address on accident and how it would even end up there? If someone sends to joe.blow@mildenhal.com, why would the message get through to his site? I'm uneducated on this Al Gore stuff.

'Where are your troops, and may I count them?'...
I'm calling bullshit on this. There is much more to this story than steve posted. He has a running fued going with the 100th. Has anyone ever seen "destroy by any means to prevent capture" in any sort of email? Give me a break.

Shipping POV to England?
There are Excursions, Tacomas, Tahoes, Expeditions, and all the other big American vehicles all over this base now. I'm assuming most live on base but there is an Expedition across the street from my house off base. It all depends on where you plan on living and the condition of the roads on your way to work. If you can't get rid of your current vehicles at a good price, bring them but buy a vehicle off the lemon lot when you get here to travel around in. Like M2 said, I have driven on some pretty crazy roads in my british honda accord and can't imagine trying to squeeze some big American gas hogs on them, but, if you know where those roads are they are easily avoidable.
