2. This is not leadership by email- this Maj didn't ask his troops to charge a hill. He brought up a trend he was seeing in students- big deal. It was not intended for public consumption, if it was, I'm sure he would have taken some more time and omitted "dude." I don't give a shit about the NFL either- I watch the games and occasionally go, but I'd take a college game anyday. I went to the superbowl in New Orleans in 02- it was a great game- but I would have traded those tickets for BCS Champ anyday. (well maybe not- U2 put on a kickass halftime show) The only thing i disagree with you on is "I couldn't care less." I don't expect tebow to suck in the pros. He is big, strong arm and definitely a student of the game. He'll do fine- maybe not great- but he'll play.

My point was- there is not a need or a place for a nav on many heavy aircraft. Putting more, unnecessary crewmembers on aircraft does not enhance CRM. Putting Navs on aircraft where there is no requirement or need is dumb. Don’t take my post as Nav-hatin’, it’s not. There are many aircraft that NEED and require a nav to get the mission done, keep the nav there.

We did this at the Deid, it didn’t go over so well. We took about 80 army dudes from the Deid to Baghdad and the left all of their reflective belts on the plane. We put everyone of them on when we landed back at the Deid. It didn’t take very long to get the ol’ “Not setting a good example by mocking the rules” speech. I guess we were actually being too safe.
