Folks wear boots with blues because boots are required to ride a motorcycle on base. I remember the days when crewnecks were allowed. IMO, looks better than the v neck. There's always the guy who looks like he's trying to smuggle Alf in his shirt, cover your disco-chest-muff with a crewneck.

People love the Keltec. In my opinion, they're not fun to shoot and if you let the Mrs. shoot it, she's probably not going to like it. She'll probably like the gun to look at and hold, but a few down range...I would let her throw 25 rounds thru (if you can find .380 ammo) it before I'd buy it for her. I bought the Bersa 380 CC. Small enough to carry, fun to shoot. It isn't a pocket gun like the Keltec, but it works for me. Side note- I think you'd find Pythons are a great Colt to shoot. They're smooth and the look damn cool. I also know where you can get a good deal on one.

Maybe "enlisted types" have the impression, uh....because a 2LT doesn't deserve as much respect as, say a Capt or Maj. Am I the only one who thinks that a Capt or Maj deserves way more respect than a Lt? An Lt should shut up and color. You'll get respect when you earn it. Respect isn't payable up front. E's might respect the rank with a salute or a "sir," but they're not going to respect you until you give them a reason to.

Have you gone to supply? I was told that supply was not issuing them anymore and only issuing crappy Bellvilles. 5 rd mag is it. Ruger mags seem pretty difficult to come by for the Mini 30. Mini 14s stuff is all over, but 30s are, i guess, a little more rare. If I buy it, I'll definitely be searching for a few 30 rd mags. I favor the mini 30 for the caliber, I haven't ventured into the .223 yet. I can by one type, and be fine.

Thinking of picking up a Mini 30 in the AM. $600. Original owner, no additional magazines, says 20 rds down the tube. What do you think?

Maybe it's Mini-14, Mini-30, manufacturer specific. I know nothing of ARs and very little all together.

I've read bad reviews on the poly mags. This guy is banking on them.
