At that point you're not getting a 'real' safe...rather a Residential Security Container (they look like rated safes and do provide some security). For $2K, if you can afford it, I'd go with either Amsec or Liberty. Don't be fooled into how many locking bolts there are as most of the security comes from the thickness of the steel, which is what drives up most of the price. The fire rating is pretty important to look at as well (in some ways more important). The best place to put a safe/RSC is somewhere out of sight from a grab and go thief, and preferably somewhere you can bolt it to the floor. So although these companies put a sexy logo and a nice coat of gloss paint on their product, opt to spend the money more on steel thickness/weight and fire protection. Diamond Back is another company you might want to check out given your constraints. Edit: Break Break PMags at Aimsurplus for $13. http://www.aimsurplu...item=mmag571blk

It's all political BS. He can say Newtown this and Newtown that, but it's all for show to get what he and the majority of his party wants...and to get them closer to what they really want. Nothing voted on today, if had passed last year, would have prevented Newtown. As for the politics, I don't really think it's going affect much either way in the next mid-term election. Kind of makes you wonder though...the Dems had a super-majority in 09-10...enough to ram through the unpopular Obamacare without a single GOP vote. If the Dems had pulled together they could have easily had passed whatever gun legislation they wanted and it would have been damn near impossible to overturn it since the opposition would later need 60 votes the other way. I'm not saying that all the moderate Dems would have voted for sever anti-gun legislation a few years ago, just saying that they had to party makeup to do it. AR prices are obviously getting a lot closer to the old 'normal'...I wish AK-74's would follow suit. As for ammo, any price between what it is now and what it was going for back in October will be considered a great deal and will get bought up fairly quickly, which then means it will still take more considerable time to bring down the prices.

That's what you get for not hitting the refresh button on BO's every 30 seconds...

PSA has Pmags for $13/piece. Nice to see the prices coming back down quite a bit. Now if ammo would only follow suit. http://palmettostatearmory.com/index.php/magpul-ar-15-m16-30-round-magazine.html

How do you like the 1-4x scope? Is it pretty durable on a 'tactical' rifle? What's the furthest range you can get out of it and still make precision shots?
  6. I agree that is is sad (nobody with half a heart wants to see anything like this happen), but unfortunately we shouldn't be too surprised even if it is homegrown. We've had fvcked up people shoot up a school and a movie theater recently...horrible as it is, in a country this large with 315 million people, it's bound to happen every so often. Not saying it's acceptable, just being realistic. And I HATE the politicians on both sides who automatically start saying 'Well, we have to do something'. Sometimes all that is needed is a thorough investigation which hopefully leads to a prosecution of who is guilty.
  7. Dude, you're going to have to fight a little bit harder to earn the title 'BO's #1 Asshole' as there are already few others in front of you. Though you're definitely on your way.
  8. Let the record show that it was neither me, nor Nsplayr, that turned this into a political thread.

Very nice (the part before the lake). Let me know what you 'thought' about it before you lost it. Mine should be in hopefully next week...which I'm sure will also get lost in the gulf as well.
  11. NY Post is saying officials are confirming 12 dead and nearly 50 wounded. Edit: Link http://m.nypost.com/p/news/national/two_explosions_at_boston_marathon_iMR0LCkcwASg0RQfVsH1yI

Buds LE/MIL has several different Colt AR's in stock...definitely fair prices for a Colt. http://www.budspolicesupply.com/catalog/index.php/cPath/196
  13. I can't hold a candle to the guys who flew in Vietnam, and nor do I think I deserve to...those guys were true badasses. Don't get me wrong, a lot of awesome dudes are doing a lot of awesome things these days in a shitty country as well, but not like the Vietnam guys. Years ago when Rucker was still a half Army/half Air Force program, the old Vietnam Vet-era contractor IP's would tell us some pretty amazing stories...what's even better is it seemed that nothing we did (ie fvcked up) ever seemed to scare those guys (unlike the FAIPs that I would scare on most Tweet flights). Awesome post man...he definitely speaks the truth.
  14. So if I follow the AFI's from this point on, am I 'going above and beyond'?? Sweet...I needed another OPR bullet.

Dude, you're the man...just picked me up the .308! Too bad it will lost in the gulf right when I get it, but still, great gun at a great price!

I fully agree...but I don't think Smith and Wesson is going take a hit by staying in Massachusetts and I will still buy their products when I see them as a good value. As for Magpul, I loved their products before and now I just love their products even more. But will enough people reward a company so much that it will make up the costs from moving vs not having moved? Tough to say, but in large companies, I don't think it will change much. I just see people (not saying on here but other sites and FB gun people that I follow) making claims like 'I'll never again buy a Remington' because they ended up staying in New York...when it's BS, because I bet you down the line that most would still buy a Remington if they liked the firearm and got a good deal on it, and those folks will also still purchase firearms from other anti-gun States. If it makes people feel good to say that they'll never buy from a certain company again, that's fine...but I challenge to see what people actually do later on. ...also, let's put it this way...if Cheaper than Dirt had quality brass .223 for $.25/round, I have no doubts that a lot of the same people who said they would never purchase from their company ever again will probably change their minds, at least this one time.

I agree with you on principle, just not reality. Look at what happened with Magpul, and Colorado hasn't gone yet full blown stupid liberal as of yet (they're heading that way). Colorado still passed/signed their bill, so it didn't work. California continues to pass higher taxes and not every wealthy person has moved out of the State...hence why California still does the same thing. Why?...because that's what their voters want. Sad but true.

I don't think too many companies will move...at least the large ones won't. Smith and Wesson is HQ'd in Massachusetts, Springfield is in Illinois, and Remington is in New York--very anti-gun States and I haven't heard of any of them moving. As for more dumb laws equating to less sales--that's true regardless of which State the companies reside in. If a company moves for reasons not equating to State taxes, business rules/regulations, better/cheaper workers, reduced expense, etc...if it's not for those business reasons, then the move would purely be for principle and emotional reasons. Don't get me wrong, I would definitely support gun manufacturers moving to more gun friendly States, but if they don't, it won't cause to me to stop purchasing their products if I see them as a good value. A bunch of us have been buying Smith and Wesson MP-15's because we've been able to get them for a pretty sweet deal...the fact that they reside in Massachusetts didn't really affect my decision one way or another.
  19. Don't worry...Obamacare fixes all. I know this because he told me.
  20. Another fine example of our public (ie government) schools indoctrinating children with lies and propaganda. It only makes an even stronger case for school choice and home schooling...as if there needed to be a stronger case. http://radio.foxnews.com/toddstarnes/top-stories/school-americans-dont-have-right-to-bear-arms.html

Not part of the lower, but PSA has complete Bolt Carrier Groups for $179 a piece...not hateful these days and getting pretty decent reviews if you're trying to build an upper. http://palmettostatearmory.com/index.php/m16-bolt-carrier-group.html

Are those prices strictly for LE/Military? And... Smith & Wesson MP-15-22...with the threaded barrel/flash hider: $450 Not too bad of a price for this model if you're looking for one. http://lanbosarmory.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=1412&referrer=cnwr_4191340829622
