  1. Hey guys, I just got "the call," so if some dudes pull up to your house/apartment in a black Lincoln, and/or there has been a black helicopter flying overhead for most of the morning, now you know why. I think the mods need to delete this thread and everyone that posted in it needs to look at this "pen" I am holding... Although we have discussed it before, here's a recap...you need an SSBI done before you get a TS. Once you have a TS, if you need an SCI, you will be read into it. There is no more background investigating done for an SCI, it is just information that is more compartmented, meaning less people have a "need to know" about it. There are additional programs and/or levels you can be read into, depending on your "need to know" (notice that is the second time I have used that phrase, it is a very important factor when it comes to security clearances). So, my best guess to all of this is that Big Air Force wants everyone going to UPT to complete the paperwork for their SSBI before going. As UPT and the time to complete a background investigation take about the same time, graduates will either have or be very close to having their TS clearance completed once they pin on their wings. If you need to know more than that, contact your SSO. If you don't have one, or you don't know what an SSO is, then most likely you don't need to do an SSBI or need a TS. Feel free to PM me if there are any questions, I may even respond! Cheers! M2
  2. Lt SNAP Why do you feel it is necessary to revive a thread that has been dead and buried for almost four months? Let it go... Cheers! M2
  3. THREAD REVIVAL!! I know you all are tickled pink that I revived this thread, but I picked up the DVD a few days ago when I bought my new 61" JVC TV at the BX. I just had to see what all the fuss was about! Well, despite wanting to on several occassions, at least it wasn't quite as bad as the Iron Eagle series. Felt like a recruiting commercial to me, and as we all know those are always 100% truthful and correct. It's always nice to see Hawgs in action, even with the cheesy pyrotechnics. I was surprised that no one tried to sneak in picking their nose or something similar, everybody was on their best behavior (I am sure they were all warned by the "leadership" beforehand that any ****ing around would not be tolerated!). But for the most part the criticisms noted here are all true....but my kids loved it! Cheers! M2
  4. My experience has been the same as shady's...you have to show some proof that you paid tax on it to register it in most states. Florida used to have a loophole that would let you get around that, but when I recently tried to register my new motorcycle there I was told it wasn't possible. As such, I bit the bullet and registered it here in Texas (and ended up paying tax on it). My father-in-law got hosed as he got a great deal on a Saab in the UK, but when he brought it back to Maryland they taxed him on the value of the car and not what he paid for it! Needless to say, he was I think the "tax free" pitch is a fraud, you may not pay taxes on it when you buy it; but most likely you will pay taxes on it when you first register it in the States. Also, if Volvo or Uncle Sam don't pay to ship it, look into TransCar. They took one of our Passats to Belgium for around $900 back in 2002. They are the main auto shippers for the US government. 7. Cooter That might be due to the fact that the picture is linked from Chairforce.com, which may be blocked by your Net Nazis. Here it is again, from Photobucket... Cheers! M2
  8. Remember this one?? Cheers! M2
  9. Zach That's pretty funny, coming from a comms guy! Doesn't 95% of what you do come from here? Isn't it about time that you guys did another "upgrade" that shuts down everyone's email?? Be careful throwing stones, they might just bounce off the glass walls and smack you right in the face! Cheers! M2
  10. There is already a debate on this by our elected officials (below), and a decent discussion going on here; but I would like to get the opinions of folks on this forum...should we export the F-22? Discuss... Cheers! M2
  11. Here is the article (w/pic) from today's Stars & Stripes... (Click on image for full size) Cheers! M2
  12. This is the route they took... Cheers! M2
  13. I wish I could have seen this... Cheers! M2
  14. I know this is stretching the ROE just a bit, but I really think this is cool! During the three years I was stationed in Belgium, I got to see a lot of these re-enactments, such as the annual Bastogne march and the Mons Tanks in Town. I think it is great that these folks are working so hard to keep the history alive... By the way, 80-yr-old Maurice Sperandieu has done the 20-km walk every year since 1977. I was lucky enough to meet him twice while doing the Bastogne march, and gave him a unit coin when I last saw him in December 2004, the 60th anniversary of the battle. Cheers! M2

  17. You could later down the road apply for an attache job, which being rated will help. It all depends on how well you actually speak the languages...what's your DLPT scores? Do you get FLPP? Oddly enough, I know the Chief of the Command Language Office for the Air Intelligence Agency, if you want PM me some more details and I can send them down to him. He normally worked enlisted issues, but he does know the system pretty well (he was prior RJs, both enlisted and commissioned). Cheers! M2
  18. It is shit like this--instead of real leadership--that makes the USAF Cheers! M2 (Editted to make that ****ing picture a more reasonable size! Click on it if you want the pukable-sized version!) [ 06. June 2006, 12:10: Message edited by: M2 ]
  19. Damn, doesn't anyone on here recognize a joke anymore? "Lighten up, Francis" Cheers! M2
  20. I got drunk with a bunch of Slovak Su-25 pilots in Piestany once, nice dudes, but scruffy! At first I thought they were migrant farm workers. They didn't seem to mind my buying all the beer, it was a per diem bending 1 Koruny (about 32 cents) a glass! They gave me a couple of patches in return. Cheers! M2
  21. What the hell happened to that thread someone posted a while back about a dream where he crashed into an O'Club somewhere where the "spritis" of famous aviators hung out drinking and beating the hell outta each other? Kinda explained how the old crew would've reacted to all of this...they'd be laughing their asses off! Cheers! M2
