  1. Check out the 1,995 reviews... The Mountain Three Wolf Moon Short Sleeve Tee at Amazon.com e.g. "Unfortunately I already had this exact picture tattooed on my chest, but this shirt is very useful in colder weather."
  2. Wrong assumption, once you are a FGO you are expected to possess a farts-'n-darts wheel cap; but there is no requirement to actually wear it.

Unfortunately, no; but it's one of those firearms where I'd probably buy one without having shot it since I've heard so many good things about it (and the price is right, of course!). I understand the trigger is exceptionally smooth, but it does take some getting used to because such a light and small snubby is gonna kick. A few years ago they were priced a bit high, but now that they've dropped to a more reasonable level there is no reason not to snag one if you're thinking about it... Cheers! M2

I don't think so, I've heard comparable questions from folks looking to buy their first pistol who have asked for recommendation from several of their friends and ended up with a similar list. Honestly, for someone who isn't going to get into guns, a .357 Magnum revolver such as the Ruger GP100 is probably their best bet. They're not that expensive, easy to operate and clean, you can shoot .38 Special in them, and mechanically there's not much that can go wrong on them. Sure, they're heavy and cumbersome to conceal carry; but the majority of people who ask this kind of question are normally not considering getting a CHL so if it's only going to stay inside a nightstand or a small safe, a revolver is a good choice... T-bonez pretty much answered it, but if I may add you might want to look into the Ruger GP100 revolver. I have one as the Colt .357 Magnum I have is my Dad's pre-Python 1954 that I want to save for my sons. I got the Ruger cheap and it's just as reliable if not even better to shoot (because it is a modern revolver). As T-bonez mentioned a .357 can also fire .38 Special ammo which is cheaper and has a lot less recoil (but it is still equally lethal). While a much smaller capacity, revolvers have the advantage over semi-autos in their simplicity and dependability. If there is any reason it doesn't fire when you pull the trigger, all you have to do is pull the trigger again! Granted, you only have 5-6 rounds versus 9-15 in most semi-autos magazines, and revolvers are usually bigger and more bulky to carry than a svelter semi-auto, but for newer shooters or someone looking for a self-defense pistol for home, they are pretty good choices. Oh, one more comment, unlike most semi-autos, revolvers do NOT have safeties; something to keep in mind if you've got young kids or inexperienced shooters in the house. Pull the trigger and they will go bang! Cheers! M2
  7. The story about Tex Grebner's AD have been schnitzeled in the gun community, and some even commend him for going public about this obvious mistake on his part. He fucked up and knew it, but felt he might be able to keep someone else from learning the same painful lesson by telling folks about it. He's caught a lot of shit about it, and many feel it was inevitable (his reputation wasn't that great in the first place); but he wasn't the first and I can guarantee you that he won't be the last...

  10. We're having the worst drought in Texas history (and predictions say it'll run into 2012), and Minot's under water... The first movie was pretty good, I don't see the reason for another especially since other units such as the 4th Fighter Group haven't had a movie made about their exploits during WWII...

  23. Catbox Just remember you do have options, and it's normal to stress such decisions. Even with a relatively easy transition at retirement (I had a job lined up), I was still wound up about things. It didn't help that we lost my Dad at the same time, but it all turned out well. Looking back at that and a few other critical decision points in my life, I can say that much of our worrying was for naught. We went through a similar crisis when our first son was born, and again with our second who was later diagnosed with autism. These are not easy decisions to make but keep in mind that they're not the end of the world either. Just plan accordingly and be prepared for the unexpected, it's that simple! Cheers! M2
  24. I had an old squadron commander once tell me "the Air Force cost me my first marriage." I called BS. It was his choice, his decisions, and his priorities that did it. Just keep in mind that things are not that great on the outside right now. Have options if you can't find a job right away. School's a good idea if your family can swing it, consider going to an online college such as AMU if you need flexibility in your schedule. Be absolutely sure you have a budget, nothing will stress and the Frau out more than worrying about money. Prepare for the unexpected, and don't go tapping your savings unless you absolutely have to. It can be done but it won't be easy, and it is up to you to determine what your priorities are. To be honest, the time between when I hit 13 years and when I retired flew by in a flash; and despite the threats, a military retirement is a good thing to have. But even in the five years since I hung up the uniform a lot has changed, and ultimately you have to consider all aspects of such a move and how it impacts you and most importantly your family. Good luck, it's not an easy choice! Cheers! M2
