"New" Van Halen... Just goes to show folks how they should be careful of what they wish for. Sorry, but this song sucks ass...and the worst part is, it's recycled! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3kCj0VfD22o 'Down in Flames' was recorded in 1977. WTF?!?

Fair enough, but I think it can/should be resolved by the JAG before it need to go any higher. But given how such trivial shit commonly gets completely blown out of hand, I understand how it would be a good idea...

Sorry, but I don't see getting anyone's sqn/cc involved, this is not a UCMJ issue and the JAGs can sort it out. If not, then it goes to civil court or some other arbitrator. I think SCRA has got ya covered, but definitely talk with the folks at the legal office. It's what they're there for! Cheers! M2
  6. Great advice all around. If I may add, make a concerted effort to meet as many Brits as you can. They are really a great people, friendly with a good (albeit sometimes wierd) sense of humor. I enjoyed not only being stationed there, but the couple of trips I've been able to make back. If it were more affordable, and I could have my guns for sporting purposes, I'd seriously consider moving back! Enjoy your assignment, and don't waste a second of it as it will go by quickly! Cheers! No shit, eh? That's cool. We were out in the Texas Hill Country last weekend and that song was on the radio, it'd been years since I last heard it so I looked it up on U-tube which is where I found the vid. Most of these types of videos bomb, but this one was pretty funny. Props to your buds for making old guy laugh...

But I'm betting Butters will still bitch about it! And quit posting like a chick. It's bad enough when Butters does it...

WTF is up with you lately? Tebow ain't doing too bad either!

Sorry, typo, he's 7' 8.5" and at one point considered the tallest man in the world. Break. break. Why do I suspect there is at least one person from BaseOps in this video? And it's not me... Maybe a 'WTF?' but also kinda funny for the few of us that were actually around when Journey released this song!

The media is claiming otherwise... And speculation is that it is North Korean basketball star Ri Myung Hun, who is 7' 8.5" (about a half inch shorter than than the tallest known male in the world (鲍喜顺) who is "only" 7 ft 9 in). But even in these pics, "Michael" Hun (as he likes to be called, after Michael Jordan) doesn't appear nearly as tall as the "soldier" in the picture.... But those may be other NK basketball players with him, so the difference would not be as noticeable!

OK folks, a little OPSEC lesson here...discussing security vulnerabilities at bases on this forum. All posts in this thread concerning such matters have been deleted, and anyone who feels the need to continue talking about how security works (and doesn't) at any location will be victim of the ban hammer. Last warning, read and THINK about what you post before hitting the 'submit' button! Feel free to PM me if you have any questions, but be smart and do so BEFORE you post something that may be an OPSEC violation!
  15. Just an update, as it is rolling up on two years since I got this flashlight. It still works great, the battery (a CR123) lasts a long time (I think I've replaced it once, twice at the most) and with the exception of a few small scratches (I'm tough on it), it looks new. I've also picked out a couple iNova 24/7s, which are very versatile. I keep one in the Jeep and another attached to the outside of my daily bug out bag (along with the above iTP SC1 Eluma). I like the different options, from low to bright white light, red light (again, for night vision), an SOS flash, a multi-colored strobe and a slow, alternating two-color flash. There is also a very slow, dim flash mode so you can use it to mark a location in very dark conditions. Good shit! Cheers! M2

I think this has been posted before, but it's worth another look... This would be good for a gun safety course. Oh, and before anyone asks, I am not featured anywhere in this video (but there are a few hot chicks in it! ) Cheers! M2

Well, I just remembered this but since there doesn't seem to be any interest in continuing this discussion on SIPRNET; I'm not going to bother unless someone requests otherwise... Cheers! M2
  19. Remember this? The American general "allowed" a foreign officer to be within his own regulations? What bullshit! This, gentlemen, is how it is done!
  20. Apparantly they cause morale to increase and other unwanted effects...
  21. Knock off the debate and stick to the topic...

Hey! Wait a sec! Was that a jab at me?!?
  24. While the article states otherwise, I am pretty sure that was an earlier photo. As far as I can remember, Olds kept his mustache until he returned to the States. The one time I met Olds, I asked what ever happened to it; and he told me that when he reported to the CSAF the latter pointed at it and told him to get rid of it... Cheers! M2 p.s. Looks like Olds' book (pg 342) and Wikipedia confirm the story...
