Track Selects and Assignment Nights
Last Friday the drop was a great one... 2---CV-22s (Kirtland) 1--60 (Moody) 3--U-H1 (F.E., Andrews, Fairchild) Those were the first two CV-22s to drop in a very long time. We had an IP leave for them a month ago, but hopefully the trent continues.

What if you WANT to be a Helo pilot
He had just got back from Iraq and then was shipped to Cali for the wildfires. He is a good guy to fly with...they really all are once you remember each of their specific styles.

Motorcycle Riders Thread
I would call it pretty standard...you take time to visit a big 12 school for a football game at some point. Typical attire for the girls is a short skirt and boots. I would say that 90% of them can pull it off too.

That girl actually said that she would marry me. She drove to Nashville to pick it up for me too. She is from Texas also which explains her unusual good looks...daughter of an AF O-6.

Police department, business choppers, medivac, etc. etc. etc. I will have to ask Mr. Edmonds about all of his deaths tomorrow. That whole office is filled with a lot of character and experience.

I just bought an 08 HD Nightrod special. I ended up getting it for 15,475 brand new from a dealership in Nashville. Saved just about 4000 by buying it from them as opposed to the local dealer down here in Helibama. Awesome bike. The stance has you hunched over a little bit so I am not sure how it will be on really long trips, but I have had it a week and have damn near put about 600 miles on it between getting it back from nashville and driving it to work. It is a sick looking bike for sure!

CV-22 Osprey info
I am pretty sure the only thing they are flying them for right now are airshows. It is like trying to guess when CSAR-X will be up. Hopefully someone does have some answers though because I am interested too.

Cross Country info
Our Cross Country is: Vance to Garden City, KS Garden City to Denver, CO (sleep) Denver to Grand Junction, CO Grand Junction to ABQ (sleep) ABQ to AMA AMA to Vance It should turn out to be a good time. Still looking for a good O&B though...They won't let us fly into Lubbock anymore due to a large amount of geese.

Where are the best places to go for O&Bs and Cross Countries from Vance? It is about that time and I would like to head to the fun places.

Bombers to T-1s
We were told by the 71OG and the 25th/CC that you shouldn't count on it (recent as of a couple of weeks ago) . They said it is still a CAF mindset.

Classic thread - Good puke stories
There are two guys at VN right now that washed out from airsickness. They did the same thing mentioned above. They even went down to do some fancy air sickness deal at EN. These guys have plenty of heart too. I think the each lost 15 pounds if I remember corrrectly.

Contact lens info
Is there anyway to get around the 6 month wait. The contacts that I got are supposed to be able to stay in your eyes for one month without taking them out. They are high oxygen lenses made by Bausch & Lomb "purevision". I really do not want to wear glasses under my helmet and I am methodical about cleaning them. I usually do take them out of my eyes everynight anyways. Thanks for the advice, I have my UPT physical here at Vance in a week or so.

What are some lesser known AFSCs and their niches?
I never knew about the OSS before I came on active duty. On a normal flying base (non AETC) it is pretty interesting. Owns the airfield, tower, etc.

Information on PCS/moves/moving (DITY, TMO, DLA, storage)
From what I understand if you are in a training pipeline then you can get it multiple times. Another possibility is to get a waiver signed for either a full or partial DLA. Also, if you know you are going to be making a smaller move (less expensive) then ask for a partial DLA and then get a full DLA on your next move. I will be able to give complete details on this by the end of the week.

Single Parent UPT
The (one and only) wife...a term of endearment. That's my story and I'm stickin to it!

Single Parent UPT
Just an update...and I appreciate all of those who have PMed and replied. It is really looking like there is no way I will be able to get custody. It does not mean that I sure as hell will not try, but chances aren't good. Life is still sucking, nothing is final yet, but I am getting closer to the move date each day. I just pray and hope to God that the wife will give it one more shot. Thanks again for the replies, etc. It helps.

Single Parent UPT
Does anyone have any stories of buds they know being a single parent going through UPT? Please provide details on what the flight commander's thought, tactics they used to be approved for it, etc. I know that some may say it is going to be impossible, but I think it would be much harder if my wife leaves me and takes my daughter away from me. I hope this is not too personal...I am just desperate for information regarding this. Money is not an option and I would be willing to pay for the best of the best as far as a Nanny is concerned. If anyone can do this, it is me. I appreciate all of the advice I can get, I know it is bad timing expecially since I am supposed to start 5 Oct...thanks wife. Also, if anyone has tips on how a military man can get custody of his children please PM me. Thanks again, redneck

Does anyone have experience with Buells? The Firebolt is looking pretty sharp! The price is not too shabby for them either (around 6-7K for a used one in great shape).

Tinker AFB info
I am casual at Tinker...and am married...and live on base. In my opinion, living on base is a great deal while you are starting out (i.e. 01-04) No bills minus TV, cell phones and it is only for a year (or less) of your life. You will be able to save a lot or spend a lot depending on your preference. If you have any questions just PM me.

Jeep Wrangler
I doubt you are going to lift it...just from your previous posts, but if you do, go with the Rubicon Express ONLY. It is a little higher priced, but it is well worth it. I actually bought my jeep off of ebay, drove it for about 7 months and then sold it for more than I payed for it. Mine had a flat fender conversion on it. I really like the stuff from PoisonSpyder. There is just so much crap you can get for jeeps! I would have gone with the auto too after driving the manual(sts) all summer. It is a lot more relaxing not having to f*ck with the manual (sts). All in all...Have fun you are going to love it!

Any Bourbon Drinkers?
I like the flavor of Jack much better than Jim (STS). If I have some money to spend then I like Whiskey River, Knob Creek, and Old Weller 107.
