Big AF does not want enlisted pilots because of one thing: airline wage gap. I’ve been to several HAF briefings where they said exactly that...no E pilots because they know retention would be even worse.

Sounds a lot like the AF of today. Somehow the only “distinguishing” features on a career are things like PT score. I know someone who was almost denied a PCS medal because he failed one PT test once after a max duty day in the desert (he scored a 98 two days later, but that didn’t matter).

What about people who are eligible for the 2nd bonus? Say the 11M $30K/yr for at least 3 years but must go to 22 YAS. How does one retire at 20 years when they have an ADSC to 22 YAS if they’ve already elected the 24 year option? I realize without the ADSC one could retire at 20 years since the 24 is their option. But how does that work when it is no longer your option because of an ADSC?

Yes. It has been sent out on the high side in the past to “protect” it but it always gets out. ~Ten business days is standard for every set of O-4 results I’ve seen the past few years.

17D...notice there’s no SOS completion on his bio (most of these people make sure that stuff is on there). Here’s what happened (supposedly)...he came back with paperwork...his CC changed out (not sure which level) but he convinced a CC to expunge his record and TR. With a clean record (but no SOS) he was pushed for the Wg/CCE job and accelerated from there.

It did. A later commander who thought this guy was good had it expunged from his record.

Considering the guy was kicked out of SOS for cheating...among many other shady things as a CGO...color me not surprised at the charges. He just finally got caught.

I believe it. The PE board (and I assume the other ones too) has specific caveats in the instructions that talk about being selected for command and then not getting promoted to O-5.

T-1 is MAJCOM with HAF concurrence.

Most flying regs (and probably the non flying ones too) are over-tiered. I saw a reg once that said “do not do X. (T-0).” The next sentence said “wing commanders can waive X locally.” WTF

Things are waiverable even with a T-0. It just may require Congress or some other outside agency coordination.

All the promoted APZs I personally know had a DP...but there are still unicorns. According to the AFPC lady, the pushes for APZ that are above the line include all the “Super P” items: strat, next DP verbiage, CC/HAF+/SDE push with top/recent OPRs to match.

It used to be this way. Why does the AF have zero corporate history? This is nothing new.
