Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) Certificate
Nope. It is a rather new Baron 58 with G1000, synthetic vision, Jeppesen charts, air conditioning, autopilot, and many other items that drive up the rental cost. It’s not cheap but it’s easy.

Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) Certificate
Oklahoma Aviation (flying out of Wiley Post) has a great airplane and Bret Wyatt is a decent instructor. It is expensive training though since the 2011 Baron G58 rents at $775/hr wet. The gal at TCC (Tulsa Community College, flying out of R.L. Jones), as mentioned above, is also good. I don’t remember the pricing there. For the OK area, do your practical in Wichita Falls, TX with James McElvain. No reason to use any other DPE.

Promotion and PRF Information
Your OPR only really needs to say Sq/CC as the job push (plus SDE and something better than “MAJCOM”). The flavor text is more important for the PRF. Source: AFPC promotions counselor.

They don’t think they need 100% to O-5...they know you can go to 24 as an O-4.

Promotion and PRF Information
I had my Sq/CC tell me to my face that “must promote” was a solid PRF push (and truly believe it). I told the CC that it was a terrible push and I expected to be passed over. I hate being right.

Promotion and PRF Information
Two words on your PRF are enough to “send a clear message to the board”: “Must promote” instead of “definitely promote” on a “P” PRF.

VA response recommendations
The VA dude at Tinker is supposed to be great. But I think he’s only for people who haven’t gotten out yet. Worth a call though. Sent from my iPhone using Baseops Network mobile app

AD to Reserves with Disability/Sleep Apnea
How did you get diagnosed? Did you self-identify? Do a sleep study? Do you have a second opinion? You can petition to get things out of your medical record...but as it stands, an MEB discharge will probably keep you from serving in the AFR/ANG. Sent from my iPhone using Baseops Network mobile app

Car loans and interest rates
Ally bank savings rate is now 1.9%. We got a car with a 0.9% loan when we had the cash on hand in the Ally account at 1.0%. Sure we aren’t making money versus inflation...but since we bought a year old model for a 20% discount...we feel pretty good about our situation. Our plan was to get the dealer to jack up the interest rate and lower the car price further (so we could pay it off before any interest was charged) but they didn’t do that.
