Track Selects and Assignment Nights
Ya, T-1 bros find out weeks before the drop what aircraft will be dropping across the UPT bases. If a dude is number last of 20 in his class and hasn't mentally prepared for the possibility of getting one of the RPAs in his drop then that's on him. Oh btw, -38 bros don't know jack about the aircraft that are dropping until they see it pop up on the screen when it's their turn. I thought the OG standing up before the drop and saying that two studs were getting RPAs with a signed guarantee of a manned follow on was a good way to handle it. The icing on the cake was encouraging the crowd to cheer extra loud for them when they got their drop and then buy them a drink after. With two weeks notice and the speech from the OG before the drop idk how else you think it could have been handled better. Maybe there should be a box of tissues on stage and we should have their mom's on standby to coddle them. There's no crying in baseball!

Air Force pilot's unlawful detainment claim dismissed
I'm guessing you're also not legally obligated to produce ID? Have you been through one of these checkpoints and refused to answer questions/hand over your ID immediately? If so did that go over better than what PYB did?

Air Force pilot's unlawful detainment claim dismissed
Ok, so you're stopped at one of these checkpoints and they ask for your ID and if you're a citizen. You show them your CAC and answer yes, but they start asking you more questions...YOU HAVE THE MINIVAN But seriously, I'm curious how you guys would handle it.

(Breaking) Military Clauses in Leases
I just got off the phone with a lawyer and based on her interpretation of the law I will need to pay through the month of April and most likely a pro-rated amount for five days in May. Though this is the legal interpretation, she seemed to think if the leasing agent was a true red-blooded American then they would call it good the day I hand over my orders. Since I have fulfilled only a portion of the notice requirement (have given notice but have not yet supplied orders) then the "30 days after notice has been given" portion of the clause will not go into effect until the day on which I hand in a physical copy of my orders. Which means the lease won't terminate until May 5th. As you guys already pointed out, she called BS on the leasing agent trying to stick me (sts) with early termination penalties. Paying through April is definitely not ideal, but it beats the hell out of forking over $3k.

Understood. That was a less than intelligent way of saying what I was thinking. What I should have said is: I'm currently a civilian (who won't be on orders until 4/5, well after I will have moved out of the apartment) and I am not sure if base housing will be willing to help me when I haven't actually received orders yet.

Russia shoots down meteor?
Not much data to go on regarding flight trajectories of bus sized meteors... Hard to predict how the trajectory is going to change once it begins to enter the atmosphere and starts heating up/breaking apart. Not to mention how far in advance a shot would have to be launched to intercept something moving at that speed. If they have FCRs that can do that kind of work then I'm not sure why they're threatened by the Euro missile shield.

(Breaking) Military Clauses in Leases
Billy, Thanks for the advice. I hadn't even given thought to bringing the BBB into it. I'm not prior enlisted or anything so I don't think base housing will be able to help me. In fact I think the nearest Air Force base is 3 hours away. Unless you're suggesting I call down to Maxwell and see what they can do for me? Currently living in Alabama for work.
