47th OG/CC said today that UPT washouts, especially DORs, will be ripe for force shaping. He also mentioned that you may be liable for your training costs, to include your academy educations. I call shenanigans on the latter.

There was a pilot select at IFS that got washed out fairly late in the program (week 4) because he flat out could not land the airplane. I've had some rough landings in the Katana, ones that I thought were terrible, but the IP said they were "safe," so this guy must have really been performing some carrier landings with the nose pointing 15 degrees off of center line to get the boot for landings. People do fail the EPQs and stuff. In fact, I know of someone who has failed the same EPQ 4 times. Yes, there is a test bank of 100 some-odd questions. I know.

On the same token, you're not enjoying your house in a 'nice' area when you're on trips either. If you have a family - totally different story, though.

I'm gonna call your Vodka choices a fail. Svedka is good and cheap and I'm also a fan of Tito's. I usually drink bourbon though. Woodford is good, but Wild Turkey 101 is a favorite as of late. On the scotch note, a bud just told me he scored a bottle of JW Blue for $149. Nice! I know they're that cheap online, but rarely at my stores.

All AFRC pilots through OTS. I heard that AMS is closing, so everyone will go through OTS eventually.

Uhhh, yeah, you might want to follow up on that. I know DD says "it'll be a few months," but if it were me I would have checked in by now. But I heard that they selected a chick who worked for Lockheed and that #1 and #2 alternates were enlisted dudes in the unit.
