There is no choice ... you are fed a pro-biotic, piss warm soup that looks like pale snot 3 meals a day. Watch the first Matrix ... it's a lot like that stuff.
But during basic there is usually the 2-week period where they only allow peanuts, gluten, milk, and shelfish to weed out the weak swimmers.

Any of you guys know if you can still get just an AR-15 upper anywhere for a decent price? This is probably a long shot...
I was thinking of building myself an M4-style carbine before all this bullshit happened. I already have a Bushmaster A2 so now I'm thinking maybe if I can just get an M4 upper and a buttstock that would be good enough. But I'm not really finding anything so far!
The places that aren't price gouging have been sold out for a little while.
Recommend waiting 6 months until things settle out.

Examples of when a good time to use it will be? Not calling you out, just curious what others have used it for.
After you get out and have 8 kids and are authorized 20k lbs and just bought the retirement ranch. The HOR move is good forever .... But only once.

don't burn your HOR move to haul 1000lbs of new wifey frilly things. You'll need that move later and it will be much more valuable later.

I may be dense (likely), but why are we hell bent on a progressive tax system? Why should I pay a higher PERCENTAGE for making more money? If the rates were flat, I would contribute more actual dollars the more I make .... But I still don't get why I should pay a higher percentage for being successful.
What's the history/genesis of this line of thinking?

They changed suppliers a few years back and mandated that they use American parts and labor. The end result is a single supplier that coats their goat leather with what appears to be brown vinyl. If you have an older generation jacket, don't lose it or let it get stolen by Egyptian movers .... The replacement sucks.

Vipers in Egypt. Up your life insurance, but as of a couple years ago they had great quarters and financial perks.
Been there, done that, would recommend.
Although not as footloose and fancy-free as it once was still a great 1-year vacation ending in an opr that says 'commander'

I have 42 days of use/lose...part me of me wants to take off every Monday just so I don't have to wear my blues again for a while.
I did that for a while when the blues Monday policy came out .... 3 day weekends all the time are sweet

The person I talked to at TMO wasn't even sure I was allowed to do a DITY move for my final separation move so I'm hesitant to trust what they tell me. That's why I was hoping to run some numbers myself before my scheduled appointment.
Don't ask open ended questions then. Ask ' what is the total GCC to move xx,xxx pounds from a to b?'

That should be easy for TMO to look up over the phone.
Realize it should include the cost of the line haul, pack, unpack, and a 10% weight allowance for packing materials (or actual weight if you reweigh the 'trash'). I'm guessing it would include cost of the packing materials (boxes, tape, blankets, etc) since I know the govt pays that on a regular move (and the boxes ain't cheap), but I can't back that part up with paperwork.
TMO should be able to answer all these questions for you with actual dollar amounts so make an appointment. Once they give you the
Numbers, reference the jftr. Trust but verify!

Try to find the items in a pre-move photo or video. I've had some limited success challenging the "condition" in chicken scratch code on the inventory after the fact. Limited.
Also recommend video tape inventory of everything before the movers show up next time .... Preferably with some dated proof in the video. Think hostage tape.
