  1. Skyryder, get yourself on your commander's schedule for some "career mentorship" ASAP. The answer Gravedigger gave is correct, but you're a Lieutenant lost in the woods. Telling you to go to the myPers website isn't going to solve your problem! The cluelessness you're displaying on the promotion board process isn't uncommon. Most in your shoes are just as lost. Hell, I was at one point, too. Get un-lost. Time to climb, conserve, confess. Your leadership is failing to mentor you...but you can force it from them. Your commander won't bite. I promise. It is his job to mentor you. He gets paid to do it. If he's not doing it, then why's he there? Go do it, and suddenly you won't just be another Lt to him, you'll be a no-shit person with a face he'll remember and care about. Take charge of your own career. Let your leadership know you care about your direction and place in the world. That is more important than any AAD, PME, or other bullshit you're going to do anyway. This forum shouldn't be your first stop to get your questions answered.

  2. Fail. Bird in Hand and the rest of Mildenhall village suck. Especially if you're trying to take a vacation, not just TDY. Either way, get to Cambridge or London....worth the $$.

  4. I'm re-quoting this because it seems people on here just side-stepped it. Is this standard now? Fuckin non-UIF holding line LT flyer getting the ax to Capt before they even got god damn 500 hours in whatever it is they're flying? If so, fuck it, close shop, there's nothing these old heads can inject to alleviate that particular scenario. That's just systemic failure of the machine. That was not even close to being standard 5 years ago. No way anybody can assert that with a straight face. Fuck PRFs and kool-aid. Accept you are now in early 1990s Blue, dust off the Discovery Channel VHS tapes from that era, and make decisions accordingly. The experience of those who were in this guy's shoes only 5-10 years ago is NOT useful; the author of the above would be ill-advised to attempt to mimic their "career" progression. Fuck, mine included. My life philosophy rings true now more than ever: Do something until it no longer is tenable to your condition, or until you get fired. At that point do something else without regret. Don't ever do something under the premise of being afraid of getting fired because that's leaving too much of your self-worth up to machinations that have nothing to do with you. I know the military owes no one anything, but man, what a broken social contract eh? Do they not know people behave according to personal and rational incentives? Golden rule and all that shit? This ain't that cosmic.... Cock suckers or Morgan Freeman is right.....

  5. This addresses individual non-selection, not squadron wide buffoonery: Contact the promotion board section at AFPC and get a copy of your record 'As Met' - it's what the board saw. Schedule a 'Non-Select Counseling' appointment and invite your CC to it. Someone from AFPC will go over your record with you (via telephone) and look for errors and offer clues to your non-selection. If there are any errors or something is missing they will tell you how to fix it (may require an appeal to the Board for Corrections of Military Records) and you'll be able to have your record go before a Special Selection Board. If you get picked up from that board it will be the same as if you were promoted from the original board. If not, no harm done. If you don't have cause for the SSB route they will provide advice for strengthening your record for your APZ board. Look around the Promotion section of the MyPers website for phone numbers and more info. Best of luck.
