I've had some non-direct routing through there due to military exercises so that might be a possibility.

I’ve passed between China and Korea well north of that area over AGAVO on my way in and out of TAO/ZSQD. From what I can see, there are four very large SIGMETS from surface to FL400 for embedded thunderstorms just north of where they made that big turn to the east. My guess would be they were either preemptively avoiding or they just weren’t happy with their ride and what they were seeing on the radar. or it could be what FF said. It looks like historically, they do jink east (though not usually that big) in the vicinity of Shanghai, which is the normal corridor.

That's the entry and exit between the two countries when you're going eastbound. There's a FIR handoff avenue east of Shanghai.

Ukrainians were taught of or remember the holomidor when the USSR killed up to 7 million in the 1930s. They also know what the Russians have done in places like Buca. That’s why I shake my head at people in this country who think we can negotiate a peace settlement. We can stop supplying weapons, and they will continue to fight with sticks and rocks if that’s all they have. If you know the Russians plan to kill yiu, there is no benefit to surrender. Sorta...my doctorate is an EdD, which is what my advisor and another member of my board have. The other two members of my board have PhDs. A large part of my corrections is due to the two PhDs not signing off until I add some specific quantitative information in my dissertation, which is usually what PhDs do. Qualitative data is usually what EdDs do. After my defense I could tell my advisor, who was the chair of my board, was pissed at the other two, but what could you do? I'll make the corrections they want and they'll hopefully sign off. I don't have to defend again and I'm going to the 9 May graduation in Stillwater.

Defended my dissertation yesterday. Passed with corrections.
