They already upgraded some of the pilot alts to pilot and released ENJJPT. I haven't heard anything about the nav alts moving up and cadre doesn't know. Anyone upgrade to nav or know anyone who has for FY11?

Hello, I'm currently 17 years old so please bear with me if what I'm saying sounds rediculous. I'm a senior in high school and applied to 2 colleges. The first one I applied to was the one I really really really wanted to go to and got accepted and wanted to go to their AFROTC program. I got in and the Air Force gave me a FULL TUITION type 1 scholorship so I have until May to accept it. I was thrilled... Then today I recieved an acceptance letter from SUNY Maritime College. They have NROTC available there unlike the other college I was accepted to. Now I know I want that regimented type of lifestyle and that experience. I DO want to try to become a pilot since …

If you get a 3yr ROTC scholarship at one school, can you transfer to another and still retain the scholarship? Thanks

Is there any disadvantage to using the crosstown program to attend ROTC offered at a school you're not attending? Would there be any pressure on the commander to boost the kids going to their "home" school over someone attending elsewhere? And also, does the Air Force take into account the quality/difficulty of the institutions where ROTC is offered? For instance, a cadet ranking in the middle of his detachment at MIT is likely to be a better candidate for a pilot slot than a cadet in the top of his detachment at a less selective school. for those who went the 2 year POC route and skipped the first 2 years of AFROTC, how hard is it to get adjusted to everything having missed the first 2 years? and is it that much harder to do well in FT because of everything you missed out on? im just saying this because this is the path I plan to take.

I have the option of doing either. I'm hoping to get good grades in college, and believe I will be competitive for OTS. I would also really like to apply to the Guard/Res, Coast Guard, and Navy. My ultimate goal is to fly, and the Guard/Reserves would be my first choice, however Guard slots are hard to get and if it meant flying I'd happily go AD. I can afford college, so a scholarship is not an absolute necessity although it would be nice. Is getting a pilot slot though OTS hard? Is it easy for someone with good grades, a PPL, community service, etc. to get a pilot slot through OTS (depending on the needs of the AF), or is it a total crap shoot, and ROTC is much safer…

Anyone have any good work-out routines they used to max out the PFT? I'm not talking going nuts here with working out.. Just a good routine to keep you in the game and not have to worry about physical standards for AFROTC.

All, I'm looking for information concerning whether anyone has still commissioned after their det/cc has recommended that they be disenrolled. If they didn't commission, did they serve enlisted (say if they were Prior-E) or did they have to payback their scholarship? Rumors, examples, or anything is helpful.

Hey, Does anyone know the statistics of people that get DQed at Brooks (on average) each year after they get selected for pilot training?

I was recently disenrolled from the AFROTC program for mistake my detachment made 2 years ago. I am a computer science major that will be going into my 5th year this coming up school year. Now, normally, a 22 package would need to be sent up to HQ to get me approved for a 5th year. However, my detachment commander told me when I got back from Field Training that a 22 package was no longer required and that my Spring semester, senior year, they would contact HQ and get me approve. Okay, so my EAD date is listed as 7 May 2011. That is exactly 21 days from today. My orders haven't been cut yet. As I understand it the TMO requires 3 weeks notice before the day they get movers to your place. I am married with one child and we are renting an apartment near the campus I attend. Does this mean we will have to leave before we can get movers here. I know nothing about "do it yourself" moves, what are my options. As I see it my options are: DITY (lots of hassle and no experience on my part deter me from this option) TMO (They will be moving our stuff after we have already reported to VANCE ... is this even possible) Other options?

Hello, This is my first post, but I have been reading up on this forum for a few weeks. I am a Junior in High School and have almost completed my PPL. I hope to go to a state school and pursue my ratings, but I have wanted to serve my country too. If you get a D in a class, but your term and cumulative GPA is still above a 2.5, will you still be given a conditional?

Hey Everyone, I have a heard a lot about these loans that you can get a certain time before commissioning. I know one is supposed to be offered by USAA but, I have not been able to find out much information on it. Could anyone help me out with the details of some of the loans that are currently offered. Any help is appreciated thanks a lot!

I'm sure your commanders have informed you about the details of the program or are soon going to. I am debating on applying or not. I'm a Nav candidate but I don't get activated till January next year. I was wondering what yalls perspective is on this.

Does anyone know when the ENJJPT selection board will be this year? I know last year it was at the end of September, but I didn't know if it changed this year. I asked my cadre but they don't know anything about it.

Hey guys and gals, First off, I'm going into my last year of High School in Southern California. I've known for a long time that I wanted to go the ROTC route, but now that it's crunch time I'm not exactly too sure on how to go about it. I've maintained good grades through 3 years (averaging between a 3.8-4.0) and currently have 3 AP class credits. Anyone get accepted for ASCP/SOAR and attend a cross-town community college while enrolled in a AFROTC before transferring over to a university to enter POC and earn their commission? One of the requirements to qualify for these two scholarships are: Be admitted to a school offering Air Force ROTC (including cross-town schools) and the academic major you desire to study. I plan on applying to a cross-town school such as a community college because its easier to get into and I wont have to take the SAT's because i have graded college work. I am just curious if anyone has gone this rout before using an enlisted commissioning scholarship. Thanks in advance!

I am applying for a ASCP and SOAR scholarship and I am stuck on a certain section of the AF IMT 56. I am at the section where it asks to list how many at what speeding tickets or traffic violations I have had in the past. I know ive hade tickets before, but its been almost 5 years now and I cant remember where and when they occurred. Can someone tell me how and where they got the information to fill out this section of the AF IMT 56? Thanks!

Anyone know our heard of someone who is enlisted and palace chased to get out of their enlistment and commission through afrotc?

Today, we were briefed on new scholarships the Air Force is offering: if you're interested, qualified and are selected, you will agree to becoming a CSO or ABM and will therefore go on scholarship and have priority for field training selection (like some of the tech majors). The other side of that is you're locked in to one of those two AFSCs; you don't have the option of applying for other rated or non-rated career fields after field training. Has anyone else heard of this? What do you all think? Worth shooting for?

Hello, just curious as to who all recieved a rated slot that was in Computer or Electrical Engineering. I have been told that only a select percentage of these majors were even allowed to compete, due to the needs of Big Blue. I was not selected (although cadre expected I would be selected) and wanted to see who else was/was not. Also, if anyone knows the averages for these selects, that would be appreciated as well. Starting this semester, I'm going to be enrolling in AFROTC and competing for a scholarship/to get contracted. I am looking for any advice from those who have "been there done that" on what to do in order to stand out to the cadre and help my chances of getting a scholarship- and ultimately a pilot slot. If it makes any difference, I will be entering this semester as a sophomore with a 3.88 GPA, my major is Political Science, and I have a Private Pilot’s License. I did a search but didn't find a complete answer to my question, so if this information has been posted somewhere please flame me and I will look harder.

I found this website when doing a little intel gathering for the TBAS. I don't think its considered test compromising since its just practice for what already well known about the test. https://www.proprofs.com/flashcards/story.php?title=_36014 Maybe some people might find it useful. I have a question though. I don't have any problem with the questions where the "UAV" is heading in one set Direction, be it N S E or W. Thats fairly easy. But when the "UAV" is heading say "NW" and they ask "Find the SOUTH" parking lot. Well... Actually wouldn't there be two "S" parking lots? A SW and SE? How are you supposed to know which one is the one they want?

Just got a heads up from our cadre that monthly cadet stipends will be lowered by $50 for all year groups starting in the fall. This applies to all contracted cadets, not just the new people who are being awarded scholarships this FY. AS100 - $250 AS200 - $300 AS300 - $350 AS400 - $450 Also, I heard a rumor that Air Univ wants to drop the original FT slots number from 2200 to 1500 this year. Not sure if its going to happen but apparently thats the amount they're looking at. Bad times ahead...
