Professional Flying Service This Agreement contemplates that pilots shall devote their entire professional flying service to the Company, except that nothing in this Agreement shall be construed to prevent any pilot from affiliating with the military service of the United States. -- Lawyer as you will.

seems pretty benign and professional all around.

I did a 6 monther (7.5) to Tampstan during this. If you can’t find lodging for 55%, with a non-A, proof of CTO consultation and independent justification to your commander, it’s waiverable back up to 100% by your CC. Glad it’s going away, it was an ass pain that I was fighting finance every day of the week over it.

I agree with this. VASAviation came out amazingly quick with the audio combo, and the clips are different then what was playing on Fox News. He flew out to the water, stayed there, said he didn't want to hurt people, and when he joked about it, ATC clarified that he was joking. He seems more like the "One of these days I'm going to take these things for a joy ride YOLO." I think the gravity of the situation hit him in the middle of it. The F-15s were there, if he displayed any kind of hostile intent (and botching a barrel roll over water isn't hostile intent), he would have been splashed quickly.

Heh heh, to be clear... this is airline hot, airline shitty and airline terrible places. Still worlds better than -135s at AUAB in the summer. I’m 737s on Short Call, live in domicile, and have worked 6 days this month, half of those beings a deadhead only days. While I did get assigned a 3 day trip starting tomorrow, I’m hoping that’ll be it for the month. Honestly, this job makes you really lazy.

I'm aware of the stipulations, I'm passed over, declined continuation and separated without pay. People were roasting Duck because he asked if he was going to get IVSP and a few people went with "you're trying to quit and get paid on the way out." When the AF decides how he was passed over this board, they will decide if he gets paid. If he does get paid, the involuntarily separated narrative above will stand. That's what I was trying to point out... people were getting on Duck like he was going to file a travel voucher under false pretenses which is not how the process works. And so far, the grass is significantly greener on the other side.

He has an ADSC, was twice passed over, was not offered continuation, and is being given a separation date. The optics that led up to the above narrative are irrelevant. IVSP is not something one "applies" for. AFPC determines whether certain criteria is met (or not met) and amends it to his separation orders. I do not understand why people think he will apply for it and get the cash if it is warranted. Duck literally has no control if he gets IVSP, the most he can do is appeal the decision that is being given to him. There is no form to reject IVSP because you feel bad about the cash being deposited into your account. Edit: I realize y'all are very passionate about serving your country... but this is purely an administrative decision being driven by regulations beyond a service members control. It makes much more sense if you detach any emotions from the narrative.

Your question came off like you were judging someone for asking if they receive per diem on a on a TDY. There is no trickery here, it’s either you do, or certain parameters mean you don’t. It’s not up to the member to decide. In fact, this goes one step further because AFPC does the travel voucher. Edit: According to the bureaucracy, we are the victims here, being separated against our will. The system views us in the same boat as those are are RIFd, and certain benefits come with that

IVSP isn’t something you file for, like a travel voucher with a made up non-a letter. It’s a long, drawn out process and at the end of the paperwork, the AF will tell you if you’ve met the criteria for IVSP, and if you do, they pay you, and if you don’t, they don’t pay you. Lots of assumptions going on here. Duck: it’s a bit more drawn out than that (go figure.) you have to sign your paperwork acknowledging your acceptance of continuation, declining continuation, or non continue and separate (it’s all one form, you’ll recognize it when you see it.) From there, your CC sends it to MPF who then forwards it to AFPC for the separation program processing. The forms you get back from AFPC will have the IVSP information, or in my case, a box checked saying you are ineligible for pay. I believe it should be on your separation orders, I can do back and look. In my case, MPF “forgot” to forward it to AFPC, so when I called the TFSC asking what the hang up was, they said it was because I hadn’t returned a form. The person sent me the form directly, I replied directly, and that got the ball moving, albeit another week or two later.

What? Rule #2 specifically says special benefits package, which JGB falls under per MPFs own list. As for currency, I separated 31 Dec 2017, so not sure what would have changed between now and then.

Ok I had to look back in my emails. Your discharge benefits code is under “special benefits package.” When you go to Airman and Family Readiness, they will look up that code, which also authorizes you six months of healthcare under TAMP. MPF has a master list of codes that qualify for the 20 days of permissive TDY under the special benefits package listed above. Give them the code that A&FRC gave you and they will validate the 20 days. Edit: I had to go to MPF and get it added to DEERS, THEN Separations would validate/approve the 20 days. Edit 2: it was the Separation code, which was JGB for us. That’s what I had to get added to DEERS before pressing on.

I was able to take 20 days of permissive TDY tacked onto my terminal.

With a few separate details, this was me. I really didn’t care to advance my military career, told my commander I planned to get out, asked to be a line IP at a UPT base, and was subsequently passed over for Major. The rumor mill went crazy as I deployed to Tampa for 7 months in the middle of it (“he told the commander to fuck off...) The amount of friends who privately expressed envy was shocking and kind of hilarious. In conclusion, it can happen with the right commander and right assignment. Incredibly thankful for the opportunities of the past, incredibly stoked to be out and loving life. Risky move, but knew I couldn’t stomach another 10 years. No regrets.
