  1. Not sure I can trust someone who rolls their flightsuit sleeves above the elbow. WTF?
  2. I'm sure there are plenty of folks here with first hand knowledge of his exploits.
  3. The stories about this guy coming out of Laughlin are... incredible. I look forward to hearing about his upcoming FTU training.
  4. So every one of the 535 are not striving to improve things? And Bone WSO is "myopic" after having served as a Legislative Fellow?
  5. Don't. It's an inherently poor design: They put the tailwheel on the wrong end.
  6. A good buddy of mine works as an aerobatic instructor for her. He has good things to say about her.

  8. https://theaviationgeekclub.com/video-when-a-us-navy-f-14-tomcat-shot-down-a-usaf-rf-4c-phantom-ii/amp/ Mike Ross went through T-38 PIT when I was an IP there. Good guy, good story. However, I heard his ejection injuries got worse with time.
  9. Keep in mind: some of them actually vote. The pilot did not survive. https://www.walb.com/2023/09/14/1-dead-1-injured-fitzgerald-plane-crash/?fbclid=IwAR0tzps455x_jui85dKS_MhH9UyAWYf7SygcOHnI-ZmxOOw5oRmh3X_P-b4
  10. When I was a T-38 PIT IP, we did formation touch-and-go's. They were a blast. And a great way to get the reps to get really good at them fairly quickly. I tried a few times to get them approved at Beale and it's 300' wide runway. Never could.
  11. I hear all of the pointy-noses guys saying T-38 training needs to be more relevant to what they do. I imagine circling isn't a big priority in F-22 and F-35 real world ops. Probably not in the B-2 and upcoming B-21 either. There are only so many bananas in the UPT syllabus. Save circling for FTU if needed But bring back formation landings, you pussies!
  12. scle·rot·ic /skləˈrädik/ adjective 1. MEDICINE of or having sclerosis. 2. becoming rigid and unresponsive; losing the ability to adapt. "sclerotic management"
  13. Having known people who have had false allegations levied against them, I'll hold off on my judgement of Maj Gen Stewart and see what the investigation comes up with.
  14. Probably 3.5-4 months, IIRC. And there were quite a few more events/sorties than there are now. Also, the C-model flies about .1 shorter sorties than the A does.
  15. A PCS... to learn how to instruct in the T-38? YGBSM.
  16. Yes: they increased it from 167 to 194 pilots accepted for the early retirement. I'll be interested to see how many apply to another airline.
  17. Because I wasn't previously aware of anyone that was willing to step up and put their name to the allegation. Have you ever had someone "anonymously" accuse you of something severe? I'm not a Trump apologist, so don't try to frame me as one. I gather from your reply you are not a fan. Noted. I attempted to frame my post in a non-biased manner. Please respect that.
  18. Yeah, I always took his POW remarks to simply be a case of extremely poor taste in lashing out at John McCain... but aimed only at McCain and not the POW's en masse. Until today, I didn't put much credence into the allegations he's said disparaging things towards WIA and KIA. However, Gen John Kelly's remarks today on the issue are disturbing. I can't imagine Kelly is lying, or that he even "misunderstood". I'm curious how Trump will react to this in the coming days.
  19. It's always been this way... even if it went unenforced for a few years. Is having to stay on base that big of a deal? There's a lot of big shit wrong in the AF. This is unnecessary noise.
  20. McJay, What airshow are you referring to? I have no idea what your post is trying to say.
