I heard it was a join-spouse assignment.

Fairly certain that last C17 was JB Lewis-McChord not Charleston.

Yeah, that was it. My memory of the T-1 drops was a bit fuzzier.

Anyone have any idea on the current drop rate of ospreys and where they're coming from these days?

I've seen maybe 4-5 total CV-22s posted on here in the last six months and was wondering if that seems about right.  I know for a while they were coming from all three training platforms including hueys but wasn't sure if that was the current status.

That being said, can any osprey dudes/dudettes speak to whether or not there's a preference in the CV-22 training pipeline where they went for phase three?  I.e, is someone coming from a T-1 at a disadvantage vs someone coming from a TH-1?

According to the CV guys, they wanted to prioritize students this way:

T-38

TH-1

T-1

The ACTF wants to do the reverse.

Never heard or seen any prioritizing. Most are Rucker bros or 53 guys.  There’s no advantage to any track, each has its hurdles.  Generally they drop to Rucker and t-1 guys, 38s grab afsoc assets and you can get one there as well.

That is what the CV community briefed ACTF. With metrics!

Actual B-2 or T-38 with possible B-2 follow on?

Probably an actual B-2. That community wants young blood. When I was eligible to apply several years ago they came back and said my year group was “too old”.

Haven’t ever heard of a T-38 with possible B-2 follow on in a UPT drop...

Anyone know if the AWACS and JSTARS were by request?...

It’s possible, but probably not. There have been an uptick of 38 studs to ACC heavies. Why do you ask?

In the last several years I haven't seen any studs from Vance who dropped B-2s that didn't do just that. They're sent to PIT down at RND and then go fly as a back seater in the A model at Whiteman.

Thought those used to be sourced with IFF washouts. Has that program lost its teeth?

No, there is an ANG unit in STL that used to fly F-15C's, so your statement isn't just inaccurate , it's confusing.

Whiteman = SZL...... maybe a typo on the initial post?

To clarify, there no longer is an ANG unit in STL. The 131 FW which used to operate F-15s out of STL became the 131 BW and moved to Whiteman as an associate unit. They now operate the B-2 as a conventional bombing wing.

As far as I know. I know a few IFF washouts that went to AMC heavies. We were told it was to alleviate the bottleneck at the fighter FTUs. We were told not to expect AMC, only ACC heavies or AFSOC for the FY18 drops. The first few classes felt it the hardest and it’s been a sprinkling here and here the entire year so far. RUMINT machine said to not expect AMC since they’re more reluctant to send their 38-trained dudes back to AETC.
