Huh? Who said you have take a TI seriously? Stand there, yes ma'am, no ma'am, play the game and move on...big tits or not.

Not posing nude for a national magazine in uniform: reasonable request
That's the difference. Don't do anything that might be construed as a dumf-ck manuever while in uniform.

Even though I agree with Bender and Rainmain that she's not that hot, it's too bad I'm on a stupid TDY...have to wait in order to see the spread.

EDIT again: I just saw the Playboy photos. Maybe the mag is different, but she is not in any part of the uniform in any of them. Unless there is a section of mil clothing at the BX that I have not yet seen.

"...those gotta be fake..."

If you can see it, and touch it, it's real.

"I'm still trying to get my head around the impossibility of her waist-size to funbag-size ratio."

Steve, you should have edited your post more carefully. The correct verbiage is:

"I'm still trying to get my head BETWEEN the impossibility of her waist-size to funbag-size ratio."

"...This chick isn't even that hot..."

Okay, maybe she will not win Miss USA, BUT ON A RELATIVE SCALE:

Compare her to other 30 year olds: pretty hot

THEN

Compare her to other 30 year olds with two kids: EVEN HOTTER

THEN

Compare her to other 30 year olds with two kids who are USAF NCOs:

PRETTY DAMN HOT.

Sleepy,

I think "in uniform" in this case means as a member of the Armed Forces, whether she's in her BDU's, or just a set of dog tags (haven't seen the spread yet). You know that whole "you're an officer/NCO/airman 24/7" kind of thing?

Well, if it says you are a SSgt and a TI, or even if it doesn't, on Monday morning at 0730, the whole wing's gonna know about it.

You might be able to "yes, ma'am, no ma'am" and play the game, but I guarantee there are plenty of brand new 17-18 year olds who will not be able to turn it on and turn it off, and that will lead to some major issues. Can you imagine one of them spouting off about the spread when they saw it at the Lackalnd BX or downtown at the riverwalk? After all the sexual harrasment training we've had? Well, SSgt Manhart can pose naked...it'd be a trainwreck.

You know they are all going to be looking for the mag. If you knew someone from your organization posed nude for Playboy, you'd go looking for it, too. I heard a rumor once that someone had an amateur porn site. A buddy of mine told me at work. What was the first website that I checked out when I got home? I'll give you a hint, it wasn't baseops.net.

I'm sorry, but in today's AF, if you don't think there can be some ramifications from this, you are a moron. This also throws the whole "good order and discipline" right out the window.

I stand by my assertion that she is in INCREDIBLE shape, especially for a 30 year old with two kids.

Doesn't make it right, but that is also a fact.

At least she didn't invent some kidnapping story to explain away her actions.

She gets points for being proud of herself and up front, she loses those same points for low SA. I spent four years in a special duty assignment. You're held accountable 24/7 for everything.

Semantics, but you're right on the services and the 24/7 thing. I thought everyone was getting all up in arms because she was halfway wearing her blues, etc., and I wanted to stir the pot.

Yeah, I forget what it was like to be seventeen sometimes. Other times I have to remind myself that I am not.

Maybe from your organization, but not mine!

You're just now figuring that out? :D

Agreed with gearpig.

At first I thought she should be given props for at least having the set to stand up for what she believes in. Even if it does make her dumb as hell. If more people would stand up rather than play the "company man" party line, maybe the airforce wouldn't be run by shoeclerks with less common sense than an angered mob.

Then I realized that gearpig is right. Playboy wouldn't give this chick a second look of she wasn't in the military. Given the current political landscape and subsequent interest in the armed forces, they know that people would be interested in seeing this shoot. Without the Air Force title, she would have about a 0.01% shot at playboy. She played the cards she was dealt and I really doubt if she gives two shits about standing up for "my own rights and participate in the freedoms that make this country what it is?"

Just one man's opinion.

I'll agree that she's no ten. But still not bad for two kids. Scooter is right in that she had a complete lack of SA. It doesn't matter if she thinks she was right or wrong, what did she expect the AF to say about this....Good job? Way to go?

Regardless, at 13 years and still and E-5, she probably wasn't going too far in the AF.

I'm on a AF spouse's site.. and that got brought up.. I want to say that the "moral" of that story was that some people dont want to test, don't want to get promoted.. Some just aren't test takers.. etc, the list goes on..

on a different forum(I'm on way too many)another wife said the same thing, and a guy, who went from E to O, put her in her place real fast..

That's why the Air Force has the Stripes for Exceptional Performers (STEP) promotion. And she already fits most of the criteria (being a chick and having a huge rack).

Guest C-21 Pilot

She has bigger and better things in front (personal opportunity wise) of her than being a SSgt in the AF...

okay, does anybody agree that for an AD member, and especially an MTI, that this might be the wrong (or at least not most professional) thing to do?

I hate to toe the PC party line but it seems she's placing her desires and wants above her office. I mean listen to her interview - "I want, I want, I want..."..great role model for trainees when you're trying to cram core values BS down their throats.

However, her office is probably what got her into Playboy in the first place...

Bust her to SrA, and give her the boot for high-tenure (can't exceed 10 yrs of service as a SrA), like they did that tech school SSgt that unknowingly had sex with a student @ Sheppard...shiiit, that chick didn't even know what she was doing (thought she was hooking up with a guy at a bar), and SSgt Manhart definitely knew what she was up to.

See ya!

I don't really care about the example she set, yada, yada.

What I do care about is that she's pulling a victim card for a situation that she put herself in. She repeatedly mentions her "rights" and has not once shown that she had any competent thought beforehand that the AF might not like her posing in playboy. Regardless, when you read her statements, you can tell where her priorities are.

Let me get this straight. You're comparing the crime of fraternization and violating several regulations with the act of posing nude? Off the top of my head, I can't think of any AFI or any portion of the UCMJ she's violated.

Yet you want her prosecuted. Why is it enlisted members are repeatedly held to higher standards than the Officer Corps? They have no good-ol-boy network to protect them after minor transgressions. When major crimes are committed with the full knowledge of supervision, the higher ranking people are protected, simply because more money has been invested in them and nobody wants the Officer Corps to be tarnished. For instance, the ONLY people in the entire chain of command who were held accountable for the actions of the MP's at Abu Gharib were the idiots themselves. If an ugly SrA went to Bishkek, had an extramarital affair, went UA to procure an abortion then claimed she was kidnapped, the USAF machine would promptly denounce her and prosecute her to the fullest extent of the law. Make it an attractive O-4, and you have a different outcome.

The SSgt in question action's are not compatible with Military Service or a Special Duty Assignment. She has my respect for pursuing her dream, but my guess is she'll shortly be allowed to separate honorably.

There are a variety of ways end your service early. In the grand scheme of things, the method she chose is no big deal.

Way to 'ITTUO' for the team!

The USAF is going after Mantart 'cause she is an attention whore. Metzger is trying to slip away under the radar. Neither is worthy to be in the uniform (especially Manhart, much better out! :D ). By the way, here she is in uniform!

playboy-airman-001.jpg

My TI was 5-foot-nothing, 98 pounds with a cheesy mustache and mouse glasses, but he could out-yell a foghorn. to you, SSgt D. D. Rodgers, Flt 515, 3704 BMTS!

Cheers! M2
