I've been away from most things USAF related since 08 and thus why I don't post much any more. I read his little blog/ vendetta post and that dude has some serious fuckin' problems. Talks a lot of shit for a guy who won't even post his face on his blog.

Well played sir, well played. I was never a fighter pilot so I was looking at things from a business and political side.

She seems to be following the standard political formula, deny, deny when all else fails, counter-accuse.

I played all of my high school games on that field, cool in high school but not so much for a team trying to be taken seriously. If BSU wanted to be taken seriously they would be scheduling as many top tier schools on the East and West coasts as possible. Where BSU keeps fucking up is that they are telling those schools that they will only play in Boise and few of the Big East, SEC, Pac-10, etc are going to come to Boise to play in a small stadium that doesn't sell out for a normal home game. Boise State needs to be scheduling as many tough away games as they can against schools other than the Oregon State, VT and BSU plays a cupcake schedule and the cause falls directly upon the shoulders of Gene Blaymeier, their AD. They do play Georgia in Athens next year and I think that will be an eye-opener for BSU as to just where they stand in the world. The last time BSU faced off against Georgia (2005) wasn't pretty and BSU began scheduling a bunch of mediocre schools they could run up the score against to make themselves look good in the national spotlight. The last home game they sold out was Oregon a few years ago. They turn back tickets to away games and bowl games routinely, tickets that the other schools in bigger conferences would have sold in a day. Hell, the BSU President thinks that Idaho Vandal fans are "nasty and inebriated" (we just party more ) and refused to travel to Moscow for this year's game. He would shit a brick if he ever bothered to watch a SEC game. Ohio State v. Michigan is a sight to see. With TCU going to the Big East, MWC=WAC 2.0 The rest of the WAC will move up tot he MWC in a few years.

It is pandemic at all levels, I get to hear about it often from my AD officer friends. As I mentioned it starts at the entry level, BMT or the commissioning source, and then is furthered by the careerist mentality fostered in the military today. My comment came from the wording used, it works great to attempt to distance yourself from the issue, but more people will pay attention if you offer a personal concession in your first post when dealing with a topic like this one. It came across as a "this applies to everyone but me" rant. My bad and my apologies for ruffling feathers.

Back-stabbing happens everywhere and it begins by creating a culture, in the training and entry level environment, that says you must work as a team but you'd better be the best and screw everyone else. I am speaking from the corporate side of things as my last affiliation with the USAF ended in 2008, but from what I remember and what I hear from my buddies still on AD it is a normalized thing in the Shoe levels. I am sure it happens on the Ops side as well. Find a way to fix it at the training and you will have the problem solved and possibly be a millionaire. You touched on it briefly, it stems from the careerist mentality of beat others to make yourself look better. It happens in the military and in the civilian world. All one can do is try to hold yourself above it and hope it will influence those around you.

I am finally going to complete my AR. I have been sitting on a CMMG 16in Middy upper (STS) since December as I have slowly saved for a lower I like. I am ordering a Spike's Tactical M4 lower and BCM GunFighter charging handle Monday. My next commission check is going to a FailZero Bolt and Carrier Group then an optic later. I just need a good BUIS or carry handle and I can start shooting.

You can't really go wrong with a Mossberg 500 or Remington 870. My 870 has been bulletproof since I bought it in 2006 and is my HD gun. My 20ga. Mossy 500 was my grandfather's and he bought it new well before I was born in '85. Lot's of history in both weapons with a well earned reputation for reliability.

In regards to the Prius incident today, they have an electronically controlled shifter. This means that you can try to put the car in neutral, but that sum bitch will stay in drive until it comes to a stop then allows you to put the car in neutral.

There are quite a few 1911 conversions out there if you have a 1911 or want one. Any excuse for a 1911 is a good one. Look at the Sig Mosquito, I think that may be something along the lines you are looking for.

The BaseOps community tend to eat the young around here but with a thick skin you'll find a ton of good info. At the top of the ROTC/OTS page is a thread about OTS, start reading. Also, sharpen that Google-Fu and go find this: Air Force OTS forum. The info is out there, just go find it and make use of the search function here. BaseOps is one of if not the best resource on the web for OTS info. I looked into OTS, have since changed my mind, but keep your GPA up to be competitive and stay in very good shape. Extra- curricular activities or a job while in school will help as well. Have a back up plan ready. Look into the Army ROTC program and the Army Aviation side of the house. They are still handing out scholarships like candy on Halloween. Good luck to you.

I too am perplexed as to how someone earns a D in the AS200 class. I have been out for over a year and could pass that test. There are options to get back in. Go in and talk to your Instructor or COC, there is a chance you will need to take a semester off and then get back in. The email sounds like they have already made up their minds. If you get the door shut on you, finish school, keep getting laid, then apply for OTS as many here have done. You can also look into the Army, they are always hiring. The AF seems to be over-staffed again and if you screw up you're gone. Good Luck and go find that second door that has opened.

No worries. I had the Kimber out today and managed to regularly remove the 10 ring on all of my targets, surprised myself a bit. I am ordering my upper Monday, going with the CMMG 16in Mid-Length with free Troy rail from Aim Surplus and looking for a FFL to have my Spike's lower delivered. I thought about getting a BCM but in all of the reviews I have looked over I honestly can't tell a difference in the CMMG vs. BCM uppers when similarly equipped. I can use the money I save for PMags, Ammo, or other MagPul goodies.

Timbonez, I have been rocking a Kimber Stainless II since 25 Jan 09. No issues to date and has replaced my XD as a carry gun. The XD is actually being sold soon to help fund my rifle project.

Since my posting I have done a lot more research and will be buying the Spike's Complete lower from Brownell''s for $243 (my Old Man gets the dealer discount) and the Middy 16" Bravo Company upper, BCG and GunFighter Mod3 charging handle with a Troy or LaRue rear BUIS, still deciding on hand guards, probably M4 style for now. The purpose behind the rifle is SHTF and the Zombie hoards that are sure to eventually take place. I am not to worried about putting 30 rounds in a dime sized hole. I could care less about getting a Colt. Unfortunately as much as I would love the DD guns I am not Mil anymore so I don't get the discounts and my girlfriend EADs 28 Feb, don't really want to wait that long. Once my XD sells I am placing the orders.

I don't think that is possible for him. Soon M2 will be able to field his own Soviet armed Texan Army. So, I am selling off my XD and its toys to fund a M4gery build or put toward a M1A Scout Squad. I never shoot the XD so I am letting someone else enjoy it. I have looked around, seen "The Chart" from m4carbine-dot-net and am still at a loss. I am leaning toward a Spike's Tactical Complete Custom lower and a CMMG or RRA M4 Upper. AIM has some pretty good deals on both CMMG and RRA uppers right now. I am looking for some additional imput, links, deals etc from the Black Rifle crowd on BO.net as you guys have yet to really steer me wrong in weapons purchases. With the Mil/LEO deal from S&W I may just wait for my girlfriend to EAD and have her buy me a M&P15T
