January 9Jan 9 Gonna keep it real guys, unless you need to get exempted from the VML (which can probably be done through your current AFSC OAT), your career field wants you to PCS/A, or have a family emergency, it's probably not appropriate to email the UFT board. I get being frustrated about the 30-60 day window for RIPs closing but their email is explicit in that they ask if you do not get assignment info by 1 Mar 26 to then contact the org box. Asking for an update because we're at 60+ days is jumping the gun. The shutdown definitely didn't help organizing training dates for us and the other >930 rated accessions. Not saying it's morally right or fair, but honestly, part of the job is giving up some capacity to plan for the future to AFPC. I've never met a retiree who said they had perfect communication and heads-up for every transition in their career.

I didn’t myself reach out to the board but my CC would like to know what’s going on. A training RIP and Assignment are two different things as well. Additionally, going past 60 days with no update can be a bit stressful for people with families who have to plan an entire PCS. I would say, at the very least send a message out to all those who are waiting to hear something of what could be a hold up and etc… this would curb the anxiety and impatience that some people may have. Lastly, there are people in career fields who have to continually progress and in order for those people to progress they need to go through upgrades and etc… It would be a bit stressful for someone to start an upgrade and maybe take a spot from someone else only to receive an assignment half way through an upgrade and have to stop to get ready for a PCS. I hope that makes sense. No shade, but I think in this scenario, at least an updated expectation email or notification can be sent out instead of radio silence. I had a buddy selected last year and said it was the same thing and he didn’t get any info for two months until he reached out to ask for an update.

That’s the only options that makes sense to me unless they were talking about the MFS rip (which was a training rip) and the assignment notification being NLT Feb 28th. Either way, very frustrating, hoping after we all come back certified from WP, we’ll hear something.
Saturday at 08:32 PM5 days I reached out to the board because I’m in a unit that deploys frequently and exercises even more frequently. Some of our Squadron’s leadership team is deploying in a few months and I’d be next in line to cover for them while they’re gone, but if I’m leaving at the same time as them then they need to start prepping someone else for that role. Sometimes it isn’t about impatience, but at this point my unit is being asked by MAJCOM for info and answers about what personnel we have available for XYZ. I’m not saying they need to tell us our specific assignments, but they did originally say we could get assignments as early as Jan 2026, then didn’t send out RIPs for MFSs until Jan 2026, which means none of us are likely to move in Jan. They said RIPs would come out 30-60 days after selection notification. That hasn’t happened either. They said to reach out if you hadn’t received an assignment by 1 Mar, but didn’t specify when they expected people to actually begin PCSing. Will people get an assignment notification on 28 Feb and be expected to PCS mid-March to start training in April? These are valid questions and I’m happy for the people who have the flexibility to not worry too much about timelines, but that info is extremely valuable for some people and not only for them personally, but also for their existing unit that is critically manned and being tasked left and right. 1 hour ago1 hr 11 hours ago, Justwanttofly said:I reached out today and this is what I got backReading through the FY25 forum, assignments were loaded ~60 days after PSDM release; the earliest RNLTDs ranged from 1-3 months from then. Within a few days, people were reporting RNLTDs of 4-8 months after release (8 months seemed to be an outlier.) One person’s theory was that dates were being given based on order of merit (more competitive selects were given earlier dates) but this is not confirmed. If our timeline is similar, and assignments are loaded next month, I estimate the first RNLTDs in April-June, with some in July-September. Feel free to read through last year’s board and check my math.

Crosschecked last year's PSDM for FY25 wirh 26 and it was to expect assignments as early as March last year and this year's states February. This tracks given our board was a month and a half earlier in the year. Just frustrating we got notified of selection relatively early with official release in the first week of Nov vs mid Nov as the stated tentative release. Now we're past 60 days potentially not getting assignments until 90 days. Passed my last checkride in the 9 yesterday so sitting with my hand hovering over the brain dump button awaiting an assignment.
52 minutes ago52 min I’m in a similar boat. At least I won’t be checking MyFSS 4x a day anymore! At least until Feb. Is anyone doing anything to prepare? As an RPA bro, I feel more prepared for UPT than IPT. I want to know more about the learning environment at IPT, compared to Doss, and how students’ experiences at different locations may be different.
