The 175th is a great group of guys on an awesome platform, and man…yeah, just a huge, huge bummer! But as disappointing as it was, that’s all a part of this process with so many qualified, competitive applicants, and I’m sure we’ll both land somewhere soon and be in a great situation—gotta keep that chin up, keep getting better, and keep applying! Many before us have had to have to absorb more “no’s” than they’d have liked before getting that one “yes!”, but that journey only makes that first “yes” that much sweeter. Keep focused on that! Hang tough y’all, and all the best to you—it’s gonna work out, just stay at it!
August 8, 20224 yr Also, anybody hear anything back from the 176th FS or the 179th FS? Thanks for any intel you may have!

I imagine they had drill this weekend and we will hear something this week.... Or at least I would hope so, in the event we have to make travel arrangements.... not really trying to buy a last minute plane ticket lol Also, no clue how many people they will select for boards/slots they have available. Any chance y'all think they have more than one with the platform transition? Edited August 8, 20224 yr by foxen additional content

I just turned 29 though, so I feel the sense of urgency with so few boards for fighters the rest of the year.

I'm 30 as well, but it's nice to at least get a hint of interest from the fighter squadrons. Good luck with the rest of them!
August 8, 20224 yr Annnnnnnnd TBNT from 176 They did offer personalized feedback though, which I think we can all agree means a lot. Congrats to those who got it. Any hints on the next fighter board? Looks like a lot of them did their boards and such in spring/summer? Edited August 9, 20224 yr by foxen

I agree, no that wasn't the easy cut unless they weren't fully honest? Idk. Only thing I left out was flying hours. But basically they said they had to elevate the minimums to weed out applicants to make interview selection. So it sounds to me like scores come first but whole person concept comes second. Only other tidbit was that if I had flight hours/a more competitive pcsm I'd be a very competitive candidate so at least I know what to work on and at least these are things I and all of you can impact for the most part (which is good). No ties to Wisconsin whatsoever, total rando. Hardly any ties to ang/afrc as a whole.

First recommendation would be to do Bogidope applicaiton/interview prep or review apps of those who have interviewed/selectees. With the 115th, there last boards trends had some who were hired without PPL and low hours (40s) and higher was around 140. PCSM and AFOQT in your range, with no rush or ties to the area. They definitely look to hire from within first, but getting an interview is possible with what you presented. Keep on applying. Edited August 12, 20224 yr by SquidBilly
August 12, 20224 yr TBNT from JAX after a phone interview. Anybody make it thru and get an in person?

I appreciate it, Yeah I mean they were saying 80s 90s to be competitive. I am 80s afoqt pilot score but I'm 50s on the pcsm (probably from never having touched a stick/rudder).
