FlyFastLiveSlow Posted April 12, 2014 Posted April 12, 2014 So are they opening another round of TERA on the 15th or not?
BFM this Posted April 12, 2014 Posted April 12, 2014 Once they know how many apply, they can assess and make a decision.
LookieRookie Posted April 12, 2014 Posted April 12, 2014 We had an 05 11M approved for VSP today. 3 years ADSC left. Applied late for VSP and never had the initial round of denials

CosmoPilot Posted April 12, 2014 Posted April 12, 2014 I'm happy for all the VSP approved folks, so don't take this the wrong way, but... When the new ADSC waiver table was posted, they should've paused everything and made everyone that had submitted VSP paperwork fall under the previous waiver criteria. Again, I'm glad people are getting good news. BUT I'm gonna be super pissed if my yr/AFSC goes red because new ADSC waivers are getting approved on the VSP side preventing me from re-applying for TERA under those same new rules. Totally blows they post new ADSC waiver criteria after TERA closed giving us no options to-reapply while VSPs are getting processed and approved against the new waiver table. Thus, potentially reducing or eliminating our yr/AFSC while us TERA guys sit on the sidelines and watch. Posted from the NEW Baseops.net App!

Posted from the NEW Baseops.net App! same boat as those of us that applied for VSP in the first few minutes and were denied for UPT ADSC causing us to resubmit...it is what it is, sucks but really nothing we can do about it. 1
Vetter Posted April 12, 2014 Posted April 12, 2014 Timing is everything. There is no justice. Better lucky than good.

Applied late for VSP and never had the initial round of denials Even though I would love for this to be true, I find it incredibly hard to believe. All I've heard for the past few days from leadership (I know, take that with a grain of salt) is that AFPC will not start processing the VSP applications that require the ADSC waiver until after 1 May. But in light of this new information from LookieRookie, I will go back to refreshing vMPF every 30 seconds. (05, 11M, 3 years ADSC, currently "referred to BPO" after getting rejected the first round)

This is precisely why I'll trade my flight suit for an airline uniform. At least there i know my line number and how many people i have between me and being furloughed. 1 1
LookieRookie Posted April 12, 2014 Posted April 12, 2014 I saw the email. He's a C-5 type that's instructing T-6s 1
32off Posted April 12, 2014 Posted April 12, 2014 I am raising the BS flag, lookie rookie. It doesn't add up. Why would your buddy who has that much ADSC left be approved? Someone is yanking his chain. Also had the scary thought that when congress goes through another round of sequestration, guess where they will be cutting the "fat" from? Your vsp and Tera purse. 1

The TERA purse is the exact same purse as all military retired personnel. There is absolutely no difference between the early retired and 20 years retired except the % of pay. Apparently you missed the C-17 IP last week who had 5 years of his ADSC waived. The waiver authority is "up to 6 years off of UPT ADSC."

I feel like I'm waiting to get picked in dodge ball and the line is getting smaller every day.

chizz Posted April 12, 2014 Posted April 12, 2014 A c-130 IP in the CTS at LRF just got approved as well as a cheyenne guy dont know how much commitment was left at cheyenne, but none left at LRF. My chances are getting slimmer everyday, they are going to hit the 40 before they get to us that need waivers! F-in crossflow

Applied late for VSP and never had the initial round of denials I'd like to see the look on the AFPC Retirement and Separations Branch Chief if this is true. If anyone wants more info on my source, PM please. Apparently you missed the C-17 IP last week who had 5 years of his ADSC waived. The waiver authority is "up to 6 years off of UPT ADSC." We all saw the same guidance, but I've asked around at the base in question and nobody in the Sq seems to know who it is...

If it's not a person reporting approval for themselves, I assume the approval hasn't happened. Still waiting for the first person with an ADSC waiver to say they themselves have been approved.
