If that had been done, there never would have been a stall to recover from or at least figured out how much airspeed bleed would be required to maintain that AOB below the sustainable airspeed. The jet was being flown "out of configuration"... there were no numbers or charts anywhere for what he was doing which is why I stated above that he was basically acting as a test pilot. They may have tried what he did in the test phase, but what he was doing was not part of any standard flight profile for a C-17.
