August 15, 200916 yr https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PTv9QgPrXCU The end of Private Ryan, oh man. I saw that with some pipe hittin', hard mothers, and we all just sat there.......speechless. No movement, no eye contact with each other, afraid that we might see each other crying.....because we all were.
August 15, 200916 yr Like B52Gator, there are wayyyyyy too many to choose from - gotta like though the good old fashioned MITO takeoff..:) Ah, those were the days..water injection on a hot day... And this one - not a war movie scene, but it's really well done...

August 15, 200916 yr Granted, fictional and not an overly great movie. But a great blood and guts routine finished by an old-fashioned Rambo pig sticking. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g2RG-vMLGCk HD
August 15, 200916 yr Ladies and gentlemen, may I present R. Lee Ermey? One of the classics for sure. I read somewhere that to write the script for each scene, they just told him what the situation was and had him go off (STS) into a tape recorder until he ran out of words...Then they took the best and those became his lines. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TFNeBRc7W7s
August 16, 200916 yr Ah, it's too bad political correctness has virtually eliminated that kind of training.
August 16, 200916 yr My favorite war scene is the last scene of The Green Berets, starring John Wayne, where the Duke's character walks down to the beach with the Vietnamese orphan. The orphan asks "What will happen to me now?" and the Duke responds "Let me worry about that Green Beret (as he is putting the late Peterson's beret on the boy) and then says "You're what this is all about." They then walk into the sun on the beach to the playing of the last stanza of the Green Beret song. This movie was the Duke's answer to the antiwar movement in Hollywood. Its on YouTube, but I'm too internet incompetent to upload the video. The other scenes mentioned on this threat are all good. The boot camp scenes (R.Lee Ermey again)from the Boys in Company C are also worth mentioning. Red https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QksTWzzwfEI Edited August 16, 200916 yr by HerkDerka

Great scene, but hard to watch with a straight face in a post-"Tropic Thunder" world
