I'm driving with the daughter not too long ago, she states that she's in charge of music for the ride, and tries to plug in her device, but hits the CD/XM button.  I have 5x "mix tape" CDs in there fr

  • Okay, so I am bored and sick of the coronavirus bullshit.  Decided to see what topics were on the  first page of the forum, ya know...13 years ago. Not sure this thread title aged well. 😂

  • John Prine for the past few days...dude was amazing

Distrubed "10,000 Fists" - After 25 years of trying, finally a Phil Collins song I can stand to listen to (they covered "Land of Confusion"). The rest of the CD is pretty good as well.

Avenged Sevenfold "City of Evil" - Young band but definitely a hint of "old metal" in their style

Metallica - All albums except St. Anger - They were my favorite in high school many moons ago, and remain so today!

Godsmack - "4"

YouTube is a great source for videos from these and most modern artists...check out this Godsmack drum solo (7 minutes).. I saw them open for Metallica in 2004...GREAT show!

Robert Earl Keen -- 5 pound bass

Pat Green

ZZ Top, Thin Lizzy, Rolling Stones, Steely Dan, KISS, etc.

I used to hate 80s... not sure what happened.

Jonathon Coulton, with favorites like "Skullcrusher mountain" and "Re: Your brains", as well as a folk remix of "I like big butts".

David Allan Coe

Since I can't usually get away with singing "If That Ain't Country", "Long Haired Redneck" is my favorite karaoke song.

Also for albums:

Keith Urban's Love, Pain, and the Whole Crazy Thing ... four stars

Eric Church's Sinners Like Me ... four stars

Dwight Yoakam's Blame the Vain ... rating to come soon.

CD players? I don't really listen to CDs much after getting my iPod. Even in my truck, it's all about the iPod. That thing has a bit of everything:

- Disturbed

- Avenged Sevenfold

- Eminem

- In Flames

- techno/trance

- Dr. Dre

- some party country

- Tchaikovsky

- Skynyrd

- AC/DC

I'm diverse.

What's a "CD player"?

Cheers, Hydro

I just ordered Herb Alpert's Rise, but I also bought Z Z Top's Rancho Texicano yesterday for riding around in the Jeep (replacing Ted Nugent's Greatest Hits). I also love 70s funk and 80s New Wave. Kinda shows you the wide genre of music I listen to...
