  1. songs to lurk to... the powerpoint slide show is enjoyable, love me some Warren Zevon https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lP5Xv7QqXiM
  2. I may have missed the explanation on armed overwatch versus light attack. Any updates on the program? Also, SEC. 180 discusses a roadmap for SOCOM ISR. Any bets on this getting rolled into next generation manned or unmanned ISR? 10+ year old thread.... amazing. https://www.congress.gov/116/bills/s4049/BILLS-116s4049es.pdf SEC. 175. Prohibition on purchase of armed overwatch aircraft. The Secretary of the Air Force may not purchase any aircraft for the Air Force Special Operations Command for the purpose of “armed overwatch” until such time as the Chief of Staff of the Air Force certifies to the congressional defense committees that general purpose forces of the Air Force do not have the skill or capacity to provide close air support and armed overwatch to United States forces deployed operationally. SEC. 176. Special operations armed overwatch. (a) Prohibition.—None of the funds authorized to be appropriated by this Act for the Department of Defense may be used to acquire armed overwatch aircraft for the United States Special Operations Command, and the Department of Defense may not acquire armed overwatch aircraft for the United States Special Operations Command in fiscal year 2021. (b) Analysis required.— (1) IN GENERAL.—Not later than July 1, 2021, the Secretary of Defense, in coordination with the Assistant Secretary of Defense for Special Operations and Low Intensity Conflict and the Commander of the United States Special Operations Command, shall conduct an analysis to define the special operations-peculiar requirements for armed overwatch aircraft and to determine whether acquisition of a new special operations-peculiar platform is the most cost effective means of fulfilling such requirements.
  3. Unfortunately, I do not have a direct contact at either unit to give you. The hyperlinks will take you to information on modernization and recapitalization of the ANG C-130 fleet. The 133rd is not a finalist for the C-130J. I have no information on AFR priorities or plans for their C-130H fleet. https://www.ngaus.org/sites/default/files/2020-04/FY21-C-130-Fact-Sheet-Final_1.pdf https://www.ngaus.org/about-ngaus/newsroom/eight-guard-bases-still-running-c-130j-aircraft
  4. IZ thanks you for your service.
  5. Going back to a previous comment. What is the disadvantage of employing unmanned assets to conduct precision strike, overwatch and ISR? Outside of direct action missions, do ground forces care if a manned assets is overhead?
  6. drewpey, appreciate the input. I'm glad to see that our HN partners are doing their best despite MX and supply challenges. Thinking about a switch to AVFID down the road. Probably questions for a different thread. Thanks.
  7. AVFID question: How do our host nation friends fare with multi-mission aircraft? Anyone trained Iraqi or Afghani AF crews? AVFID seems like an enjoyable and rewarding mission.
  8. Speaking of SBA. Have any small business owners, independent contractors or self-employed persons had success with the paycheck protection program?
  9. Any thoughts on effectiveness of MAFFS? Any increased capes moving from C-130H to C-130J? Will MAFFS have a significant impact on beddown locations for C-130Js headed to ANG/AF Reserves. https://www.fs.usda.gov/sites/default/files/2019-07/2019_03_15_19_bp_afue_2019_update_final_web.pdf
