Flying Videos Thread Part 2?
I had no idea the B-52s saw this much action fighting ISIS. Mad props to whoever made this video because it has seriously changed my perspective of the B-52.

Non Rated to Rated
I'd check out the two threads for the 2017 and 2018 active duty rated board. Lots of good info, stats, etc in there.

Track Selects and Assignment Nights
We had a Commander's Call today and the 71 OG spoke briefly on the T-38 assignments topic. He said the AF had to cut 40 F-16 slots. It wasn't specifically clarified but I presume that was for FY18 classes. He said it was due to the F-16 training units at Holloman not coming online as fast as the AF expected. With the reduced F-16 drops future T-38 classes could expect to see more drops from AFSOC and the ISR communities. U-28s, EC-130s, RC-135s, MC-130s, and CV-22s were specifically mentioned.

Track Selects and Assignment Nights
One of the best locations in the DoD in my opinion. Plus the mission would be great too.

Track Selects and Assignment Nights
Is getting T-6 FAIP'd from T-38s a normal thing? Seems like they would want all T-38 grads to go straight to the CAF.

2018 Active Duty UFT Board
There are zero TOS requirements to apply. You can be at your new base for 1 day and still be selected on the board. This applies if you're already an O applying for the "Active Duty UFT Board". If you are enlisted applying for the new RPA board or OTS then I am not sure if there is TOS requirements or not.

What should the Air Force be if it is so broken now?
These four points make the most sense to me. I would also add that the Air Force is too bureaucratic. We have countless AFIs that govern what we can and cannot do and half the time I read these things they do not make sense. Oh, I need to complete these 10 admin documents, with approvals from these 3 people, to get one simple account of some system that is mandated by an agency that could probably be dismantled tomorrow and no one would care. Coming from the support side myself, I can also see why the two communities need to be treated separately.

Vance AFB information
Possibly a long shot but does anyone have pictures of what on-base housing looks like for a married O3 no kids. It's hard to believe the Vance Hunt page has nothing considering that is the most important reason to have a website.

Applying soon, how do I look?
Kurt55, those scores are for current Active Duty Officers cross training to Rated. I get the feeling that OP is talking about an OTS board which is slightly less competitive in my opinion. OP, your scores look good, the 85 PCSM is pretty good considering the low flight hours. Sounds like you must have done well on the TBAS. I have similar scores and was invited to interview at Portland (not selected though) so I wouldn't rule them out completely.

Take my Chances or Retake? HELP!
This is for the OTS board right? See the link below. Someone compiled a list of stats from a previous board. It might give you a baseline to compare your stats to others but remember it will change from year to year. You can retake both the AFOQT and TBAS which might be something you should consider. There are some great study books out there for the AFOQT, the test itself is not hard in my opinion but it is quick so the study guides help you answer the questions at the right pace. https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1W-0XfDIsz1t5cvOv8dfdPWtRCsfyNJ6E1d8-SdEDixM/edit#gid=0

Couple of new units up on guardreservejobs.com. C-130s at Channel Island, KC-10s at Joint-Base McGuire, and (soon to be) KC-135s at Niagara Falls.

2016 UPT Board
Your concerns are valid but if you don't apply then you won't know. I haven't heard about the two time-application limit but I wouldn't be surprised it was true. When you talk about being sponsored/unsponsored you are always referring to the AFRC UPT Board which is being held in November this year. My OA recruiter told me they usually have applications turned in by 2nd or 3rd week in October for this board. The board in January is the board for Active Duty, meaning you are already a commissioned officer and looking to cross-train to pilot from another career field. The original poster started this as a 2016 AD board discussion but has since moved to an AFRC board discussion which can be confusing. Hope this helps.

AFRES unsponsored slots
What is your source for that piece of info?

AFRES unsponsored slots
Along the same lines of getting an FC1 is it up to the member to fund their trip out to Wright-Patterson? Or does the OA/recruiter do that for you? Asking as an unsponsored applicant.
