Last 5 years, DP rate for IPZ was 55%
all of the 55% make it (for the most part) plus the next 15%.... around 70%
DP tate for BPZ was 10%
roughly 25% of the 10% make it
there are more BPZ than IPZ, so it end up being 75%
these are estimated. Don’t hold me to it.

Depends on what x/x bpz eligibles you were
sent forward 11 bpz DPs last few years and only the top 2 have been promoted in both cases.
-
Nope, they have not been passed back yet here.
I thought eligibles get them back around 30 days prior to the board? Board is early March, right?

What you want to know, mate?

Harley knows what he speaks oF...
I’m like bing through some of it now, having PCSd from a large wing with great staff and access to everything required.
now I’m in a wing construct where only the exec has access to certain things.... access doesn’t go any lower. It’s perplexing

I wasn’t aware that they had quotas for AFSC on promotion boards....

Mods, feel free to remove if this is not allowed. Here is an example of a Lt Col IPZ PRF that was promoted with a P, and the kind of deployed info that was included. I redacted a bunch of stuff to protect the guilty (me).
I will say this: that 365 was probably the straw that pushed me over the line to O-5.
That’s the oddest PRF I’ve ever seen, and I’ve seen 100s
How long ago was this??

If PRFs change, they need to change starting at the 0-4 board. For the CY11 year group and let it permeate that way.
Or at a minimum let let us know before PRFs are written.

It does seem to be a get out of jail free card
Duck should be familiar
i didn’t think it was possible, but the Air Force surprises me with their ability to fail at something else, yet again.

Wow. That sucks dude. I remember sitting bitch queep work at wing CAG and reviewing the incoming 14N Lt/Jr Capt OPR's with no strats and discussing forcefully with the Sq/CC's they needed to get the good people numbers. Never got that done. I've talked with a few 14N Lt Col's afterwards and they all said no one gets strats at that level.
I still don't understand it.
Here is what we were mis-reading/attributing to 14n

I remember him saying it too...

If you are in IDE, they will know from your narrative only PRF and the fact that your current duty status is what it is. None of that is masked
your SR is also allowed to put the following on his push line, “He pisses fire; Sq DO/CC after IDE; SDE; Joint Staff—Definitely Promote”

Which is better???
Sent from my iPhone using TapatalkDuck says MUST PROMOTE is better
Anything that doesn’t say Definitiely Promote is bad
do you really not know?

Sadly, push lines matter and not everyone knows that, including squadron CCs.
job school and staff pushes are the way to show who’s a HPO and who’s in the bottom.
but if your eater doesn’t know what they are doing, then your push lines could send the wrong, negative message. A good group or wing staff will catch these things. Sadly, most just pass it along.
job push: should show the next job you are being pushed for. Or it could say, on track for Sq/CC.
School push should always be there. IDE, in res IDE, SDE, SASS, etc.... leaving it out sends a direct message.
staff push: there’s a hierarchy for sure. Malcom, Haf, JT staff.... leaving staff off sends a direct message. So does a MAJCOM push for that matter

No one should ever have to write their own OPR. Although I’ve always written mine....
but I’ve also always written those that I have rated
personally, I do t trust someone else to write mine. Only two bosses have known what the push lines mean/can mean.
current one has no clue

Best way to implement static close outs would be with young ranks and let it permeate up and phase out as the majors and above get out.
Inalready have 15 years of old system. Seems too late to change

Yes. Continuation is a thing
it’s been mentioned a tad
either 20 or 24 years continuation based on job..... although I thought all Majors could continue to 24, and all captains to 20

All the “good records” of APZ (multiples years worth) were promoted last year, so I’d expect it to go down some.

Apparently the rated shortage isn’t as bad as they make it seem. And we only need Majors.
Sent from my iPhone using TapatalkTalk to your DP. They may have made a mistake. They generate those letters, etc

Seriously, I don't get all this hand-wringing over staying in a career where you're shit on, unappreciated, kept in the dark about your future, and probably being paid half what you're worth
How many times do y'all have to eat shit and ask for seconds before you say enough is enough?
I’m gonna keep eating until they give me free money for the rest of my life
Pride comes second

Wow, thats pretty absurd, 14N
Af gets it ring quite often though
for every 1 who should make it, there are 5 turds who do make it

Statistically, you'd be wrong.
I realize that!
I’ll update you in 1.5 years. I’ve got 5 Major strats from deployments and wg/gp levels
fgoq x5 so far at different places.
Fgoy x1 so far
perhaps all that matters is what your record looks like as an LT/early Captain.... very possible

Same here. Looking at reserve and ANG openings. Everybody is telling me to push through the last 4.5 years but I don’t know if I can sit in some back office, in some job nobody cares about, that doesn’t have any meaningful work to do just to collect a paycheck.
I don’t want to have to PCS 1-2 more times to sit in jobs I have no motivation to do and, frankly, don’t care about just to retire at 20.
As far as my push line went (for anybody interested in comparing), I had 2 WG/CC strats (both top 35%), Sq/CC and SDE push. I also had the magic C on my other bullets. My first 8 OPRs didn’t have any strats in them but my last 6 have. The strangest thing to me is that on my O-4 PRF I was a DP and my records have improved since then.
oh well. Good luck to everyone else.
Interesting. I’m in a similar boat with bad OPR for the first 6 years. Nothing but good ones since, but I didn’t get a DP to Major.... didn’t even make Major actually.
But now I think I’m set up rather well for Lt Col when ipz hits.
If your wg/cc strats were Maj strats, then that rather odd.
As someone already said, 75% DP rate to major is much different than the 50% rate to Lt Col

While your O6 probably values you (getting strats on 1ABZ is hard enough), he has come to the realization that the AF is not going to promote you. Now he Hs to ply the game and use you as a denominator r for the next batch of O4s getting towards promotion.
Unless you want it, give someone else your leadership spot and do something you love. You can also mentor them and aid in their duties, while not having to be THE GUY... assuming you enjoy that mission.
You will likely be selectively continued to 24 years. As long as you and your bosses have the expectations set, this could be enjoyable to some extent.
I’m not saying to go to your boss and say, “I don’t GAS”... but say that you want others to have the leadership opportunities to benefit their career and you be more of a support role.
