    USAA

USAA has the best banking/savings and insurance, but they are lacking on everything else. Also please stop trying to sell me shit at the end of every call, thanks.
  2. Let's remember what used to be acceptable in the Air Force: http://www.airspacemag.com/multimedia/videos/Jetting-Through-the-Grand-Canyon.html Wonder what would happen if someone tried this now??
  3. Hi, not be a jackass, but I'm going to be for a second. Did you come here just to sell your aviation stuff? Allow me to elaborate: Googling 'bnhernandez324' http://www.google.com/search?q=bnhernandez324 shows you registering on a bunch of aviation forums all around the same time: Your first posts are identical on all the forums, including base ops: http://www.avitop.com/cs/forums/10234/ShowThread.aspx http://www.aircraftbargains.com/cs/forums/post/10234.aspx http://www.jets.dk/cs/forums/post/10234.aspx http://airlineforums.com/topic/50603-what-cause-plane-crashes/page__p__791841#entry791841 http://www.risingup.com/forums/hangar/3065-what-cause-plane-crashes.html http://forums.xplanefreeware.net/topic/10102-why-do-plane-crashes-happen/ Shortly thereafter, you start offering to sell stuff from your company: http://www.aircraftbargains.com/cs/forums/post/10221.aspx http://www.biplaneforum.com/forum_posts.asp?TID=4949 http://www.patricksaviation.com/user/bnhernandez324 (forum image) Indirectly: http://www.risingup.com/forums/light-sport-aircraft/3062-un-manned-planes.html#post11278 And then also, on the same sites, also making a new topics also all identical: http://www.flyingsquadron.com/forums/index.php?/topic/18063-the-flying-tigers/page__p__271325 (complete with a link to buy it) http://www.avitop.com/cs/forums/post/10247.aspx http://www.aviationbanter.com/showthread.php?p=766337 http://airlineforums.com/topic/50626-the-flying-tigers-the-american-volunteer-group/ I mean if you're gonna cut base ops a deal, awesome, just don't beat around the bush (sts) about it. Thanks!
  4. Does anyone have any info on getting in on the armed Caravans? Seems it would be a unique experience.
  5. Bump - does anyone have any more info on this? Requirements, lifestyle, hours, etc? I found the page inside AFPC's website on the ITDY excel spreadsheet, but that's it. Same with their Cessnas - are they the 172s or the Caravans?
  6. http://www.stripes.com/news/air-force-tweaks-new-fitness-policy-1.130601 Woo.
  7. Used the info this past weekend. Thanks FG!
  8. The AIB is for the public, and has not been released yet.
  9. Just a follow up, the OG/CC found out about SE witholding it, and the report was released the following Monday (so I heard, now TDY.)
  10. Shame, looks like we could all learn a lot from this accident.
  11. These are extremely good looking models, very nice!
  12. So whose doing their best effort to conserve water? Combat 3-5 minute showers while the plants in front of the BPC continue to be watered.
  13. Wing CC flew with our squadron. Heard he wasn't a bad guy, but lacked a personality. Also, no one has ever corrected me on anything at all yet, uniform wise, and I've been here for a significant time now. edit: Would have handled the situation exactly as it was above
  14. I think we live right next to each other. Words from our shirt on the closed for MX one is that the whole facility needs a water pump that is on order - no ETA. The other one was fixed for a day or two, but is back to being broken. The one directly facing the closed Cadi on the other side (3 trailers across width wise) I have found to be the best Cadi at the CC. It's air conditioning is the coldest, the showers have the most pressure, and the sinks have options other than "really hot" and "dreadfully hot."
  15. Count us as a (smaller) squadron that lost two trailers.
  16. The Blue Angels are far more entertaining with the low altitude work (have you seen them skimming the SF bay?) and direct angle maneuvers. The AF is obsessed with high speed passes to pull in the vertical, and fingertip formation rolls 3,000 feet up (which may be harder for the precision involved, but Jon Q. Taxpayer does not know that.) Add it with the C-130 maneuvers and it's pretty rad. Anyways I digress. TIB is actually playing here tonight at the Deid, wonder how many people are going to show up.
  17. This is false, and the story has several variations. Here is Tex Johnson talking about the meeting with the boss and mentions nothing about being fired... in fact he goes on to say "it was fine": edit: That seemed a little harsher than I meant it. I fly the 135 and think it's an amazing aircraft. The fact it was designed in the 50s and still flys today blows my mind... and the fact that ours has no foreseeable replacement in the future nor can be switched to UAVs means it's going to be around for another 20+ years at least. Insane.
  18. FYSA since I have heard the AF/Navy plane debate before: Total Aircraft: 3700+ http://www.airforce-magazine.com/MagazineArchive/Magazine%20Documents/2009/May%202009/0509facts_fig.pdf Total AD USAF: ~4k Total Force USAF: 5,573

    USAA

This is my only gripe about USAA. They force you to lock in with them - I wanted to shop around. They were incredibly stubborn and self righteous about the whole thing... I ended up going with a realtor recommended local guy, and I'm glad I did. I called him any time I had a question (and I had a lot.)
  20. According to http://www.hawkerbeechcraft.com/military/t-6a/not_pc_9.pdf (interesting read btw,) the T-6 has a 18,720 hour fatigue life. If that T-6 has 3500 hours in 11 years, they could last quite a while.
