For those of us that completed the SOS via Correspondence course, with the changes and elimination of that course - was it a waste of time?

Not really leadership, but incoming crews should note: Marriott of Doha lost the laundry service contract, and has been replaced by blue shirt wearing "Dream Laundry Services." I turned in my laundry on the 1st, came back on the fourth, said "not ready, come back tomorrow." Came back on the 5th and only my flight suit was ready - so I went back to talk to someone about it. In the back, I filled out a Laundry Investigative Complaint form, and wrote the above. Came back today (the 7th) and after the guy disappearing for 15 minutes, coming back and saying "not ready, come back tomorrow" I asked to speak to the guy in charge. I ended up speaking a the white guy in a suit and tie (Emoh?) who gave me some lip service, asked if I wanted to wait while he called the Operations Manager at the warehouse (I did) and listened to him read every item I was missing, along with ticket number and Complaint Form #. Said to check back tonight, and talk to the night supervisor, named Kevin. Furthermore, the base contracting officer was in the back talking to everyone else. I did my own laundry today. Every time I went in, there were of 4-8 people complaining with lost items/clothes not ready/people getting random ABUs & other people's clothing. The Wing CC had dinner with us a few days ago and we let him know as well. Furthermore, on a related note, I came back to this in our crew's hallway:

3 years is about right. Commissioned 18 June 07, IFS March/April 08, graduated UPT June 09, finished IQT/MQT 10 Feb 10, first deployment June of 2010.

Deployed to OTBH - if anyone is doing a league and has room for one extra person, lemme know.

To add on to this, it really depends on crew position. Several of us are 3 on 9 home. Also 2 month good deals to other locations reset that timer.

Does anyone have any info on getting in on the armed Caravans? Seems it would be a unique experience.

Bump - does anyone have any more info on this? Requirements, lifestyle, hours, etc? I found the page inside AFPC's website on the ITDY excel spreadsheet, but that's it. Same with their Cessnas - are they the 172s or the Caravans?

Wing CC flew with our squadron. Heard he wasn't a bad guy, but lacked a personality. Also, no one has ever corrected me on anything at all yet, uniform wise, and I've been here for a significant time now. edit: Would have handled the situation exactly as it was above

I think we live right next to each other. Words from our shirt on the closed for MX one is that the whole facility needs a water pump that is on order - no ETA. The other one was fixed for a day or two, but is back to being broken. The one directly facing the closed Cadi on the other side (3 trailers across width wise) I have found to be the best Cadi at the CC. It's air conditioning is the coldest, the showers have the most pressure, and the sinks have options other than "really hot" and "dreadfully hot."

Count us as a (smaller) squadron that lost two trailers.

The Blue Angels are far more entertaining with the low altitude work (have you seen them skimming the SF bay?) and direct angle maneuvers. The AF is obsessed with high speed passes to pull in the vertical, and fingertip formation rolls 3,000 feet up (which may be harder for the precision involved, but Jon Q. Taxpayer does not know that.) Add it with the C-130 maneuvers and it's pretty rad. Anyways I digress. TIB is actually playing here tonight at the Deid, wonder how many people are going to show up.
